Some people are saying the spoofing will work on 5.4 others are saying it won't. Could someone please provide me with a guide? I would like to play Super Mario Maker tonight.

Spoofing will surely work with 5.4 but only when the webkit exploit for 5.4 will be released and if Crediar accepts to port it.

Why would the GUI not fulfill that function?
You can select a version available on the WiiUBrew page, or just do Latest.

It uses the exact same information from the Title Database, I tested it, and it downloads fine here.

Is my Wii U supposed to freeze on step 4 at the point where miis are running? I'm trying to install splatoon update first before spoofing.

EDIT: I left it 25+ mins and it didn't install. The files are about 300 MB.

Also my Wii U took longer to shutdown while I was trying to run the exploit. I don't know if it is an exploitable bug. This happened twice on the same conditions:

For me it would only freeze on the Wii u menu if I had forgot to put my SD card back into the Wii but it could be your SD card try another, I had luck with a pny 8gb sdhc for video recording and a sandisc 32gb sdhc class 10 you could buy from Walmart etc and both work fine

Would it be possible that one day Nintendo makes a new server to do their automatic console updates, and make update our spoofed console that are by now connected online? Let me give you another hint, code execution is not possible on 5.5.0, the 5.5.0 webkit exploit is extremely private, and @Marionumber1 said that if he's really on 5.5.0, then that's a different exploit than their exploit, which I think it's not possible by @crediar alone.

You mean the selection screen, not the home button menu... right? We are supposed to turn off the wii u normally from the gamepad after that...

Did you left it "freezed" and after 15 minutes you did a hard-reset and then the game update was succesfully installed?

It's true then everything starts from a thought. The idea is all you need to start something great. I know your work since 2012 I think and I admire it.

What it takes to start this kind of work? C++ and nowadays html? This os is based on something known like linux?

Write a Fuzzer for IOUS syscalls and start filling it with bogus data. Track which syscall causes an unhandled exception and send it Marionumber1 in a pm.

I'm 99% sure my v1.1.0 Super Smash Bros. update was only 1.4GB. If you're at 3GB+ you're probably downloading the entire game...

I've downloaded and installed Super Smash Bros and Mario Kart 8 updates on 5.3.2 NTSC just fine with the GUI. Idk why people seem to be having issues.

Devs are working on IOSU exploit and hopefully something will be released soon.

We just hope the scene grows more and more and that many devs join the team so that they can help each others. Like we see for example with the PS3 scene
