M'kay, whatever.
No point in arguing with idiots who can't even spell properly.
But yes, rxTools DOES brick you because of the NAND portion.
Literally every word I typed is spelled correctly.. the only errors are lack of apostrophes.
So either youre dumber than you think, or you just cant read.
But no... rxTools doesnt brick you. And your response for why it might doesnt even make sense.
Because of NAND portion? You dont install it to sysNAND.. or emuNAND. Itll BOOT into emuNAND.
rxMode/patched sysNAND will allow you to alter things, which can cause bricks.
Putting rxTools on your SD and trying to launch it will NEVER brick your system by itself though.
Its just not possible.

Yes, everyone is aware that theyre trying to bring it back to life.
But what does something have to be before you can do that?
Dead. The threads OP even directly acknowledges complaints that rxTools is dead.
And the only defense to be made is its not dead till no one is using it.
Which by that standard, nothing would ever be dead.

You know, if you want to debate whether its alive or dead, you could have just stuck to the thread you linked.
I mean honestly. How many times does it need to be said

I didn't come here to debate, I just wanted to post the link in case some people weren't aware that it's being worked on. I'm still using rxtools but I think I might switch to Luma soon.

Had a similar problem, it would boot, but not into emunand, had to restore an old backup to get it running again. It just decided to die while on sleep mode for no reason at all. Hardware it still perfctly fine even today (well, I had a weird battery it empty but fully charged problem once, but the clock had decided to warp back in time for no reason, setting it back fixed the batery issue). So it may not be a total hardware problem after all.

Its a hardware problem something inside disconnected or is damaged.

Ribbon issue possibly for top LCD screen. At least on O3DS models, it is kinda difficult to fit, the clip is very delicate and hardly holds the ribbon in place (last time when I was doing case swap).

Hence there is a possibilty that it got pulled away from contact in a way that either it is shorting or no contact at all (hence sudden switching off hardware causing popping sound).

Its a common issue, usually just reseating will be good enough, as long as your used to fiddly ribbon cable work like mobile phone repair etc it should be easy enough, like a 10-30 min job, but if you have never done any fiddly repair work i suggest taking it to a repair shop as messing with the cable too much can damage it and mean you have to replace the whole thing, if you sound like you know what your talking about the shop shouldnt try charge you for a replacement screen when they are really just reseating the ribbon XD

You'll probably need a new screen most likely the ribbon cable on the upper screen has become short circuited and is now arcing between connections. Ive purchased two now with the same issue and both have needed new screens, one went as far as frying the mobo, i say the repetitive power cycling by the previous owner melted the connector on the mother board.

That is impossile, you can however have a micro tear in the cabling but not electrical like you described.
