Um, I've only ever made one cosplay thread that's gotten locked. Deleted, in fact. That's only because I defended myself against a mod that was making accusations about me. It's a prime example of a totalitarian administration. Don't speak out, or you get silenced. And if by "overzealously creepy and risque'" you mean a male with a healthy libido, then yes, I agree. I can't win, even when I'm sharing somebody fully clothed, can I? There's no shame in admitting you'd want to have casual and consensual sex with somebody you think looks physically appealing.
