ewww.

you didn't know the placenta came out little?

That might have been a nasty surprise if you found yourself pregnant.

I wouldn't eat it unless it was cooked and marinated in something tasty

Oh hell to the no will I be eating anything of the like when I have a kiddy.

Apparently if you can freeze them the blood inside them can be great for curing disease in your kid later down the track as it is full of stem cells, not sure how much something like that costs though.

I've never heard of them taking out the placenta...never even knew what a placenta was.

Other than that...giving birth can't be that bad

They don't take it out. It falls out after the baby comes out during birth. Do they not show this stuff in health class anymore? or maybe you're too young to have seen it yet?

And yeah, it's natural for female animals to eat the placenta after birth. It helps the mother have the strength to care for her baby after such an exhausting procedure, but not having to do things like eat placentas is one of the many perks of civilization!

I don't think they teach us about these things anymore nowadays.

True story, my 8th Grade teacher from way back told us his this...

His wife never went to a hospital for her 3 or so births, they believed in the whole midwife dealie. When she gave birth to her last kid, they decided to keep the placenta for some reason, and my teach tossed it in the fridge to keep it fresh, I guess. He said that it surprisingly kept food fresher than before, he had even forgot he left the placenta in there after a number of months and when he stumbled upon it again, it was still in perfect condition.

He also told us how he ate it after he found it again, but thankfully, I've blocked that bit out of my memories.

That's really sad that you guys aren't getting a proper education in basic life info. Has the US changed that much in 8 years or is it the difference between a liberal place like New Jersey and a conservative place like Texas? Man people your age sure are going to be shocked when they have kids. Well at least you have GBATemp to fill in for derelict schooling!

Not that I've ever given birth (lol) but from what I've been told it's like being kicked in the balls OVER 9000 THOUSAND!!! times in a row. (So many kicks so it would last about the same time)

I don't think a woman knows what being kicked in the balls is so I think that comparision is quite ridiculous (since the only one being able to tell how giving birth is, is a woman). I could just tell then that having your balls kicked is like giving birth 9000 times (yet I'd probably be wrong too). Also, it just depends on the woman giving birth and the circumstances of it.

Ah, and I voted yes.

Just to freak you guys out
