So... This is about imagining a First Person Shooter on 3DS, a well-baked one, say, rated >85 on

  1. YES, sure. 3DS MUST have a good FPS anytime soon!

  2. NO. Nintendo portable consoles, including 3DS, aren't made for this type of game.

  3. MAYBE. I would read the reviews and analyse the features before deciding.

    My answer: Yes!
I really liked some of the well-made FPS's on 3DS, specially Metroid Prime Hunters. I really think the 3DS would help a lot to deliver a very good MPH, CoD or BF3...
    What do you think?

If Valve ported TF2 to the 3DS, that would be an INSTA-BUY for me.

I could never understand people complaining over touchscreen aiming - I always found it superior to anything else since the invention of french toast.

    Agreed!
I think it goes almost on par with mouse control, and way better than analog stick.

The only problem is that, using stylus or finger, you lose access for a lot of buttons on that hand.

Absolutely. Metroid Prime Hunters was awesome. I'm excited about Conduit 3DS, although I'm disappointed that it is a port and not a new title.

    Yes.
Good graphics aren't a must, but they would be nice.
    With online capabilities, obviously.

The story sucked (especially when compared to The Conduit), but multiplayer and gfx were a great, at least for the Wii.

why do people dislike the word 'FPS' so much they want to say it's killing games

its just a genre. you don't see people saying would you buy a action adventure game for the 3DS

MW3 and BF3 are good games, have you ever tried playing?

Besides, calm down... All these euphoria around FPSs are going to warm up in a couple of years...
It happened with some other genres before.

It's most likely because of the whole FPS community.
Oh and a lot of people don't want really violent games where you shoot people in the face for no reason.

    >Join FPS game.
    >Turn off in-game chat
    >PROBLEM SOLVED.

Seriously, I don't voice chat with anyone unless they're my friends anyway. You could be playing CoD or you could be playing Red Dead Redemption. You're going to find more dicks online in gaming than Chat Roulette. It's not just FPS games. Also if you are so turned off from a game because of its community then you're just absolutely retarded. Tons of annoying kiddies flock to Pokemon games but has that turned older people off? Well, some, but not everyone.

EDIT: For the record I have plenty of friends who do buy all those popular FPS games but I can't classify any of them as big jockstraps. Pretty much all of them have a diverse taste in games and are good people in game and out of game. It's just rather stupid to say FPS games are "killing gaming" when its simply a genre that can really flourish now. Multiplayer is able to excel thanks to advanced online gaming and higher powered consoles means more people can play together with better visuals than before. It's a simply a matter of the tech at hand able to produce FPS games at a level that could only be done this generation.

As for the question at hand, probably not. FPS games on the DS weren't exactly "fun" thanks to that hand breaking control scheme they gave us and I don't feel like paying extra for the second analog stick add on when I can just play a FPS game on the Vita with better online anyway. I guess only advantage to a 3DS FPS would be Metroid Prime but does anyone really want another first person Metroid anymore, especially on a handheld (where we've seen fantastic titles like Metroid Fusion come from). Well, as long as it's not Other M.

    It depends.

A metroid game is an insta buy for me because it is no ordinary FPS game.

I would have to consider other games..

nintendo has never sold graphics it has sold great stories.

Well there's only been 4 Metroid games in the first person, all the others are basically 2D outside of Other M but we don't talk about it.

Also, Nintendo sells on great stories?

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Oh my god that's hilarious. Correct answer would be good platformers casual appeal solid first parties. If anything they've proven they cannot tell a good story.
