I have it on switch but still prefer 3ds for portable gaming

It's up to you to decide if it's worth the money. Personally, I don't buy the same game more than once.

Alternatively, if you have CFW, it's arguably not unethical to install it on your 3DS through alternative means if you already bought it once for the Switch.
