Other the past few years, I have had so far 2 Nintendo DS's.. a phat one and a DS Lite one. Both have now succumb to either being lost or braking due to unfortunate accidents..

But, is it worth getting another 3rd DS Lite at this late stage with teh 3DS coming out soon and the PSP 2 arriving soon as well?

Any help would be much appreciated!

    Thanks,
    Wildfire.

I'd think so. Doesn't matter if it's new or used, both are dirt cheap. Still a ton of great games that you can play in the mean time until the 3DS comes.

And besides, there's nothing wrong with collecting consoles.

I broke my DSL 4 months ago and bought another one cause I really want to play those localized games they'll relase after 3DS and still want to use my flashcards. But if you're planning to buy a 3DS and are not interested in using your flashcards anymore, maybe you should wait a little bit and save up this money for 3DS

It depends on if you want to use flashcarts or not.
If you don't, get a 3DS when it comes out. All NDS games are compatible with it.

Look at this this way: At least you'd find a cheap one, and you can always use that to trade in towards the 3DS when that comes out instead of paying full price for it.

Remember, the SuperCard team promises DS-mode compatibility on the 3DS using the DStwo. And even then, you know that someone's going to hack the 3DS anyway.
So yeah, wait for the 3DS.

Wait for 3DS, the 3-4 months will fly by anyway.

i got a ds lite for ~$60 (used & broken hinge rest is like new ah silly kids) so if you find one that cheap then yes, if no then simply save up for the 3ds and in the meantime play gba emulators on your PC lol

My suggestion is save your money for 3DS. Should be more worth it [IMG]

Everyone needs a DS. I have 5 DS and 2 DSi in my household Its not being played that much but for the price they have been all worth it since the games on it can untertain you for hours anywhere you go thats all that count . You can find used good condition DS for dirt cheap. You can buy other consoles but the investment is not the same.

Why? There is no guarantee that flash carts will work on it and there are so many great games available for the DS lite right now. [IMG]

I'm with the majority of people in this thread. I say go get one. You won't regret it, and GBAtemp commands it. [IMG]

If you don't own a DS and are a member of the Temp thats just blasphemy and you should burn in hell. [IMG]

I got a DSi XL a month ago as well, because there are still awesome upcoming titles on the way and I wouldn't want to miss them, so just go for it, but it depends on whether you want to get it or not.

Definitely yes, but get a DSi.

My experience is that the DS lite is unreliable and poorly constructed. I had to take back 3 systems to get one without a dead pixel, and the 2008 model I have is forming dark streaks along the screen edges. The left shoulder button has also stopped working (this is very common).

It might seem like I'm trying to dissuade you from the DS -- that's anything but true! Just spend a little more and get a DSi, they're much higher in reliability and give you the same access to the legendary DS game library. They also have more features and are on the verge of getting new DSi mode homebrew! (and dsiwarez, if that's how you roll)

With a flashcart than the you may as well get a another DS. You'll easily make your money back by putting five or six games on it.
