So my cousin asked if he'll still be able to open .cia files like CHMM or the Homebrew Launcher.cia after downgrading his 3DS from 10.5 to 9.2, then installing the files, then updating his system again. He said he just wants to go simple for a few things like that, save editing, and a few other games. So, if he updates his system from 9.2 with those unlegit cia files, can he still open them and go online without getting banned or anything? I told him he could set up emunand, but he said no. So, what do?

I think EmuNand is the only way...

Signitures need to be patched to launch such apps so nope.
He can get an emuNAND though.

None. Since theres no version of them on 10.6. He probably used Cubic Ninja or OoT3DS

Version? I actually told you that on 10.6 it isnt posible that way. If youre in 10.5, it is.

All that matters is that you get into the hbl somehow. Doesn't matter if it's via browserhax or menuhax or cubic ninja or what.

So you can still use both of the hax. Just search for the tutorial and follow the downgrade one. Hope you succeed
