You will get banned from online play.

3. While we don't know the exact criteria for getting bans, we loosely can assume that certain actions will get you a ban. Theoretically as long as you are running CFW on emuNAND, any actions you perform in your system would only raise flags in your CFW. However, should you decide to play with the save online, you will eventually need to run CFW on your sysNAND to transfer the save into your system. This is where your mileage may vary, there is no way to guarantee that even if you take all the necessary precautions you would be safe. The risk is yours to take, however, I should note that I've done the process for multiple games and have yet to be banned.

 

I'm quite new to the forum rules, so I'm not 100% sure about putting links, but I'd recommend searching in this forum or google for "hack nintendo switch". There are video tutorials to get u all the way to getting your own CFW. (If you have a hard time deciding, I use atmosphere but all of them work). Make sure to do a NAND backup before proceeding with CFW etc. In your case, it is not necessary to have emuNAND setup, although I'd recommend it if you plan on going any deeper regarding homebrew/hacks.

Once you have access to your CFW (assuming you are not using emunand):
1. Download and copy Homebrew Launcher into your switch (.nro file)
2. Download and copy Checkpoint into your switch (.nro file)
3. Launch Homebrew Launcher and navigate to Checkpoint and launch that
4. Select/highlight the pokemon game you would like to backup
5. Press Y to get a check on the game icon
6. Press L to backup your gamesave. the name will be in the format of DATE-randomnumbers username (your home button should blink blue)
7. Turn off your switch and remove your microsd card
8. Your save files will be under switch/Checkpoint/saves/{gameTITLEID}/
9. You should see a folder with the same name earlier from checkpoint
10. The folder should have 3 files: main, backup, poke_trade
11. Use the file 'main' in PkHex
12. Once you're done modding your save, export the main file back onto the microsd.
13. Repeat steps 1-4 then press A to select the game.
14. Press down once to highlight your save game folder with the modded game save.
15. Press R to restore the game save (your home button should blink blue)
16. Turn off your switch and boot back into OFW and enjoy your modded save!

 

Because we know about cases of people banned just by using Atmosphere + Checkpoint. Check the ban thread.

 

So, is there a way I can do what I said in the OP without getting banned then? Are you saying that transferring my save to the official firmware and then running that won't get me banned?

 

If I did get a 2nd device, could I just keep the modded save with the genned poke's on the emuNAND CFW and trade directly from that to the 2nd Switch with the clean firmware?

Or would I need to transfer the save to the OFW (thus run CFW on sysNAND) on the 1st switch, and then trade to the 2nd switch?

I'm asking so that I could keep both switches unbanned and still play online on both.

 

Yea I guess what I was asking was just if it was even possible to trade from a game that's currently being run on CFW, and it matters having a pokemon that came from the save on CFW
