On a side note, has anyone found a o3DS DIY Capture kit anywhere? I don't feel very comfortable sending it in...

The guy that does them is trustworthy. Hell, I'd argue that he's even more trustworthy than sending your 3DS to someone to hardmod it, as they don't *usually* have as much positive karma.

Their work is pretty good though, I got my 3DS XL from em last year and it's done me good

Loopy's coming back very soon to start installing 3DS capture cards again. He makes higher quality capture cards compared to Katsukity. If you ask people that own both Loopy's and Katsukity's, you'll find that the majority likes Loopy's better. Plus, I bought a New3DS capture card from Katsukity's, but it broke after almost a year.

You can also check out the forums and wait for more news. He has been working on New3DS capture cards, but there's no ETA of when he'll start installing them. There's also no ETA of when he'll come back (some say around April - June 2016). You can send your 3DS there to get it installed and since you live in the US, shipping doesn't cost much.

You can also check out Merki, the EU distributer for 3DS capture cards. Their capture cards are on-par in quality with Loopy's: http://www.merki.net/?page_id=101
They've also been working on a New3DS capture card. It's not ready yet, but it will be soon. You can check the prices and the presale date on it. You can also send your 3DS there to get it installed, but the shipping can vary since it's international and it depends on how fast you want your 3DS to get shipped over there and back.

If you can't wait, you can buy Katsukity's and it's cheaper to send your 3DS to Japan and have it get installed rather than buying another whole 3DS console + capture card. Same with international shipping, the cost may vary.
