This isn't news.
Just Wired's opinion on Sony’s portable-game strategy.
This is very true actually...
Earlier someone posted Webrush Morgan Analyst Michael Pacther's opinions on upcoming NPD numbers. That was considered news. This is news also.
That also shouldn't have been considered news.
This thread just seems like flamebait to be honest.
Properly sourced, relevant to this sites focus, from a respected news outlet. Extremely relevant to the portable market.
No trolling other than what you have already posted... twice.
define news: information about recent and important events
This isn't news. This is the opinion of some editor on Wired. How is this extremely relevant? Who gives a crap about some editors opinion on "Sony's portable game strategy"? You should have posted this in the PSP forum.
You need to stop your childish trolling.
If an opinion on NPD numbers is to be considered news so is this. This article is even more relevant to the focus of GBAtemp.
You just don't like the topic and are doing all that you can to burry it. Very childish.
I'm going to have to agree. An opinion on something, even from a respect site, isn't news. It's merely an opinion on the matter.
And this will most likely turn into a flame war, just like every news-related article that has the name "Sony", "Microsoft", or "Apple" in it.
If you ask me Wired hit the nail right on the head. Sony has no idea what they are doing and in the end their products are going to suffer. Its almost like they are competing with themselves.
Aren't nintendo doing the exact same thing?
Cameras, movies, music, internet browser, online shops. Not one main focus is it?
Ofcourse the main attraction of the 3DS is usually games, but so is the same for NGP. It's just got a load of shit on the side too.
They don't make games consoles anymore, they make multimedia devices, which is the best and worst thing about them.
Well, I'll not even post what I think about this. I'll just say I don't agree, partially and leave at that.
No. Nintendo is not releasing a tablet, smart phone and a new portable while pushing PSP content on Android at the same time. Sony is their own competitor.
It seems the author of the article is confused by the fact that Sony manufactures more than one device.
No, they're not.
Gamers will buy NGP. And that's it.
People already has like... 300+ options of cellphones with Android and they can make a choice even like this, I don't see this being a problem.
Those are different market sectors though. A 50 year old businessman might be interested in a tablet for work, not so much an NGP.
The article mentions they had one focus back in 1994 with PS1. If I'm not mistaken, they weren't primarily a gaming company then either and made all sorts of devices just like they do now.
Sure if they made two portable gaming consoles with subtle differences I could see where the article is coming from, but it's just one console with several multimedia features as is 3DS.
Just Nintendo relies solely upon gaming market while Sony has many focuses.
Wired's are 100% on the spot sony need vision
alot of people here dont seem to grasp that concept either...
They are not, Sony has vision.
Appeal to console gamers with a handheld that plays like a console.
Whether or not that is 'right' is up to you.
If they weren't any good at what they do they wouldn't be around now.
You need to look up the definition of trolling.
It's not the first time you posted a pointless news post.
People flamed in your other thread and it got locked. I fail to see how this is any different.
