Hi, does anyone know how to add a magic ranged attack to the swords like Raijinto or Siegfried? I wanted to make Corrin's Yato to perform a long range magical attack just like Ryoma's Raijinto does with the Thunder spell and Xander's Siegfries does with that dark laser it shoots but i can't seem to find the option anywhere in the FENightmare.

Can I ask you, did you do anything special to get Nightmare to work? Personally the program just crashes when I try. I even tried using two different versions of the program, one which I was told is known to work.

Hey everyone, sorry for the lack of updates recently.

While I'm not actively working on FEFEditor currently, I have worked on a couple of other tools for 3DSFE ROM hacking. I've updated the main post to include the first of these tools: Exalt. Exalt is an enhanced script editor which is meant to replace Fates Script. It produces more human-readable scripts that resemble a typical programming (or scripting) language. You can find more information about Exalt in the main post and the project's home page.

I was wondering, does this work for Game ROMs as well? At least, the Fire Emblem ones. Cause when I try to find a way to see if save editors work, it keeps saying error.

I've posted another update to FEFEditor. These changes all come from Moonling from the 3DSFE ROM Hacking discord, so all credit goes to him. Here are the changes:
  • Included a patched GameData which can be used to avoid issues when using FEFNightmare's injectors.
  • Added a module for editing GameEffect.
  • Tweaked the Character, Chapter, and Item modules to provide access to previously ignored or unknown fields.

Even if it is a small update I've been waiting for one.

Alright, I've posted another update. Once again, these changes are courtesy of Moonling. Here are the main changes:
  • Updates to some existing modules. A couple new modules for both Fates and Awakening.
  • Included some additional patched files to make using the injectors safer.

Java for one reason or another isn't loading up either this version or older versions of FEFEditor. It just runs a black command prompt window, closes it down, and nothing ever comes of it. Is anyone else having this problem?

Have you tried downloading the latest version of Java, then opening it?

From this link? :https://www.java.com/en/download/
I've tried this link and the Java.exe file from the C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\bin directory, but it never works.
If you're on a 32 bit operating system be sure to get the 32 bit version then try to launch FEFEditor, or if that doesn't work you might want to uninstall the version of java you have now, then reinstall Java.

I'm on a 64-bit operating system with a x64-based processor. The only known 64-bit Java download I've found came from this site (that I need to register an account with to download anything): https://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/jre8-downloads-2133155.html

@Psionic Roshambo i didn't go amd for one specific reason, the AI performance is way behind nvidia
    +1
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    i just got a 4070ti
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
oh yeah also DLSS is a pretty solid reason to go nvidia since fidelityfx is kinda crap
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
and now with the rtx video upscaling, and sdr->hdr conversion, even more reason to go nvidia
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
both of which work well in potplayer
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
amd is a bit cheaper though
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Cheaper and they are less stingy with the RAM not a big issue now but I can imagine in a yard or two things might be different
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
    Year not yard lol
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
the vram is one advantage when it comes to AI but ends up being slower even with that and really AI is the only use case that needs more than 12gb vram right now
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
    Interesting lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think I watched a video where two games at 4K where eating just over 16GB of RAM and it's the one case where the 7900XT and XTX pulled ahead (minus RTX of course)
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
So my opinion is that they could age a bit better in the future, and maybe AMD will continue improving them via drivers like they tend to do. No guarantee there but they have done it in the past. Just a feeling I have.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
cyberpunk at 4k without DLSS/fidelityfx *might* exceed 12gb
    +1
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
but that game barely runs at native 4k
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think it was some newer games and probably poorly optimized PS4 or PS5 ports
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
they definitely will age better but i feel dlss might outweigh that since it looks about as good as native resolution and much less demanding
    +1
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
When I played Cyberpunk on my old 2080 Ti it sucked lol
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
AMD could introduce something comparable to DLSS but nvidia's got a lot more experience with that
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
least amd 7xxx has tensor cores which the previous generations didn't so there is the potential for AI upscaling
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
They have FSR or whatever it's called and yeah it's still not great
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
so AMD seem to finally be starting to take AI seriously
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Oh yeah those new 8000 CPUs have AI cores built in that's interesting
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Maybe they plan on offloading to the CPU?
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Would be kinda cool to have the CPU and GPU working in random more
