I ended up finding the 1.2 translation bundle. I found a few errors so far, not sure if I can go in myself and fix them or what.

Try going to tiny(.)cc/ + the first word of the game name that begins with "m" and ends with "a"
Can someone fix it it to work with update 1.3?
Or is it possible to manually update the game (on console) to just 1.2?

What are the chances a C&D implies an official English release?

I don't mind using a patch, but it would be nice to support the localization if it happened but I'm not gonna buy a second copy if I get the Japanese one.

'Fix it to work with 1.3' will likely not happen as I read from the translation team that it needs a lot of manual work.

I bought the Japanese version but had to resort to piracy to use the 1.2 update.

So did you play it through an emulator? Or just download the update and install that on console? How do you accomplish that?

I downloaded and installed the 1.2 update in my emuNAND. The online update will only do 1.3.

Demo available now, translation is damn close to what I did which is neat but there are also QOL changes and performance fixes, still isn’t perfect but definitely better than 1.3.0 update of the Original.

That's great! I'm excited for any performance improvements because that's what's holding me back to really enjoy this game.

Haven't logged in here in like 10 years... Just came to ask if you reckon the Japanese version will get a translation update so we can play in English?
I've imported the Japanese version recently and was going to play the translated version on my Rog Ally X, but I just seen Bakeru got announced for thr west. So, was just wondering if they would make a patch to include the japanese version. I've got a few Japanese imports with english language so this could be one of those too.

I think it's likely that the Japanese release will be updated with the English language support.
The Bakeru demo they released yesterday lets you pick between English and Japanese when you start it.

Compared to the Japanese v1.2.0 release from before, they've made some pretty good improvements to the game too.
The sound effects of whacking enemies with your taiko drum actually sounds a lot more like drumming, and Bakeru's charged attack charges a lot quicker now.

Yep definitely getting a Japanese release with this, they’ve added actual new moves and there’s more having a look inside the demo but I won’t spoil anything here.

If this is the case then I'm super happy I got the physical copy. I was contemplating double dipping on steam, just to get the higher fidelity and support the studio. I'm in love with this game.

This is great news! A possible official English patch for the Japanese physical release, a Steam version, wow. Can't wait to see this on my PC with all bells and whistles enabled/injected.

@K3Nv2, I think the RP5 has had 8GBs for a while? I know mine has 8GBs not sure it's needed for emulation though? Probably 4GBs is enough for 99% of what it's fast enough to emulate? I could be wrong if it can do like GC and PS2 stuff maybe more is needed? Probably stream the ROMs like the consoles did off the drives.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I believe what they do is OS and translation layer (emulator) and the emulator has its RAM like 36MBs for PS2 so like 3 times that maybe as things are shuffled around, a frame buffer and. Load the data from the ROM file into that systems RAM. I think I read that even 2GBs is enough if your just using a Pi for emulation.

    What's an RP5?
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
    Raspberry Pi 5
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
For me it's just an emulation machine
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Like a super mini system, I use Batocera as an OS and it's pretty easy to set up, has a ton of UI skins you can make it look almost anyway you want. Still would kill for a WiiFlow like skin (some are close)
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I bought the 8GB model because my thoughts on that is the the difference between the models is like 20 bucks so why not get the good one just in case.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Almost never hear anyone complaining about too much RAM but not enough? Yeah best to avoid that one. Lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I did kind of overshoot on storage, a 2TB nvme drive and I think 1TB would have been plenty.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Probably have like 700GBs of stuff on it now, and don't think I can add much more.
