Using luma, set language emulation to ON, and then:

Create 000400000012DE00.txt in SD:\luma\locales\
The file should contain JPN JP on the first line and that's it.

Oh dang, I thought I had the Pikachu titleID on that 3DS, oh well.

Glad you like it. Kuriimu itself though isn't Detective Pikachu specific. The editor is generic and handles about 6 text file formats so far via plugins. The Pikachu previewer is also a plugin.

Hey all,

Some time has passed since any meaningful update to this translation. We've got all our tools ready and integrated into Kuriimu, all files are extracted and ready to translate. However, we've been faced with a fairly large problem: We don't have anyone actively working on the project.

Currently, we are in need of motivated Japanese-to-English translators to get the ball rolling. If you're willing to help, please hop on to our Discord server, which is linked in the OP.

I don´t know how far you were coming, but now Luma got an IPS patcher build in.
Will it be possible to load the translation with it?
Or else how would it be possible to load up an languagepatch?

Yep, it's possible to patch a game with Luma3DS, so you will be able to patch detective pikachu with the english patch, with luma3ds. You can also use the OnionFS plugin (NTR CFW), or HANS.

Slow projects like this eventually die before they see a release. I'm not knocking anyone on the team but the thread was started in Feb 2016. It definitely does not take over 1 year to translate some text, repack it and release it as a layeredFS patch. it's obvious the "devs" aren't dedicated to the project, it's more of "do a little here, a little there when I have time" so I won't hold my breath for a release. If you guys really need help, I can offer my services just to finally see a release; being semi-fluent in Japanese translations are minor.

Though I would like to see where you guys are as of right now. If you're not at least 50% done in over a year than I'll have to pass.

Okay, gonna be honest here:

After looking into it, only one of our translators is active. (I would've done it sooner, but I'm not on the team and working on something different.) Therefore, I'm going to open up invitations to join the team again - if you're able to translate Japanese to English and you're interested in helping out, please apply at the FTI Discord server here!

We're trying to keep screenshots and videos (and hype) of our progress to an absolute minimum, for two reasons: One, as I'm sure you're all aware, is that it's something that two very DMCA trigger-happy companies would be interested in taking down. The second reason is that we're currently having some technical issues that are, well, making text much uglier than it should be. We plan to resolve this ASAP.
