Windows XP PCs with the Windows Vista Upgradable sticker

Hello, since i was a 15 year old boy i have this question in my head

What purporse did the Windows Vista Upgradable sticker do

Because all the PCs from Windows XP era just have enough space ram and cpu for running that specific version of Windows, no more no less, then Windows Vista released and there comes this sticker that is just for decoration because if we upgrade a windows xp pc to windows Vista we can see that half of the perfomance is gone, the sistem crashes at the startup, the cpu runs very hot, drivers does not work well, the HDD runs extremely hot and the sistem is not very stable so that sticker has no point

This was during the launch of Windows Vista, boasting about how Vista is cross-compatible with new machines. However, this wasn't the case, as even after upgrading your machine would be more and more slower compared to your previous operating system, that being Windows XP.

XP was designed very well but vista announced so many things that the Windows Team forgetted about the system stability at all, imagine opening the windows menu and get a blue screen

Computers during the launch of Vista weren't exactly up to the task to run it smoothly.
Atleast, the majority of people their computers.

XP requires a 233 Mhz Pentium CPU, Vista required a 1 GHz CPU.
Requirements between XP and Vista took a big leap forwards.

Vista was a downgrade. It came with my PC, and was BSOD-happy.
Eventually went to 7 and never went back.

I remember I bought a new ASUS Eee PC 901 netbook which came with Windows 7 Basic and I downgraded it to Windows XP Pro the same day. Just because it was a lot faster on the lower end hardware back then.

Back then both Vista and 7 was quite slow on lower end hardware

my best laptop for coding and programming antennas (Acer Aspire 4315) come into my hands with windows vista and without thinking i upgraded to 7 and i was like a bullet for the things that i used it, so vista is good in some terms but in others meh

For me Windows Vista is made for those people who don't know how to use windows. Because it is just for fun.

I think all it meant was that it met the minimum requirements, and had driver compatibility.
Says nothing about it working well of course. Manufacturers just wanted to be able to say their PC could run the latest OS.

Jeez I didn't know they released the 901 with Windows 7. That sounds near unusable.
