I have installed Windows XP in my PC. The OS that I installed did not ask for a product key. Now if I want to get it through the Genuine Certification,

1. Will it pass?
2. What will happen if it doesnt pass?
3. Should I attempt to go through the procedure or no?

That depends on way too much stuff, requiring info we don't have.

Where exactly did this copy of XP come from?
What edition is it?
What brand computer do you have, did it come with XP pre-activated?
Does it have a sticker with a secondary key on it?
Is the copy of XP cracked? If so, how?

I got it from my dad's office.

The PC's quite old. Dell Optilex GX 270
It is an original CD. It is not cracked.

Just try passing WGA and everyone can go from there depending on the message you get. If it passes, then there's nothing to worry about. And if not... they aren't going to come break down your door, lol.

If it came from a office, it may be one of those that have been tweaked specifically for Ghost installations. IIRC, they don't require a product key because they already have a licence for installation on multiple computers. On the other hand, that may be IP locked (since the license is only for use on one site/suite).

I can't be sure because I've only helped do Ghost installations, and not set it up myself.
