Is it even possible to set up an wep or unprotected, mac filtered access point on win8.1 ?

bought myself a wifi dongle so I wouldn't have to compromise security of whole network and i just noticed idiots from ms decided they know better what's good for me.

Using tp link TL-WN721N, official software soft-ap is quite useless since it only allow wpa2 (prolly doing same thing as command line). Same goes for other third party software I've found.

I use this to start a adhock network on windows 8.1

netsh wlan set hostednetwork mode=allow ssid=<network name> key=<passkey>

netsh wlan start hostednetwork
netsh wlan stop hostednetwork

I too haven't found a way to do so. Albeit a bit more of an expensive option, you might want to look into getting a router that supports a guest network running alongside your primary network.

Thanks but it seems adhoc ain't gonna work for nds ;/
Now im planning to turn my old pc into a linux router should fix all those issues, guess that's only way for me atm.
