Probably not. Maybe a patch will work, but that's not 100%. I think the best would be to pirate it, see if it works, and if it doesn't, try it with a patch. If that works, buy the games, and install a pirated version/cart dump so it can be patched (you already support the devs anyway).

Well it would have been no because pokemon is the same game every time and I played that like 20 years ago (*closes minesweeper*), however if it is going to wind people up then count me in for the pirate. I would also be the one breaking encryption and making pokemon generators (possibly also move listers for online play) but it is 3ds ROMs and pokemon and I can not feign interested for long enough to do that.
