Since the R4 has a HUGH fan-base i was wondering this question.

My answer would be yes, possibly soon.

The Acekard R.P.G. has got my interest and my R4 could well be getting
sold...if anyone would take it.

Don't just vote, Discuss why you picked that Option.

Certainly not in the near future. But maybe, in a few months/years I've changed my mind.

The Acekard RPG sound really interesting, but it doesn't have features I need right now. If all the bugs have disappeared and there are some nice homebrew loaders with more functions then the one of the R4 it may be interesting for when the R4 can't play all games anymore.

Yeah and the R4 has all these features that you need and adore. Right?

I'll certainly ditch my R4 because I can't resist new slot-1 cards with overwhelming nice features and/or a nice GUI. Yes, even the GUI can make me decide to buy another flashcard

R4 does pretty much all I want though, but you never know what's coming..

I'll probably be picking up an Acekard in the next week or so. If there aren't any glaring problems that make it unusable, it'll probably replace my R4.

well R4 does the primary thing ie. emulate games even with patches and this leads to the point tht community support is very good so don't need add ons tht much when all u want is games and stuff. That's exactly what an emulator would do which is playing, cheats and saves... maybe cyclo is better and acekard will get better but not a good enuf reason to ditch R4

it depends on what you mean by "ditch" really... if I do get another cart it certainly wouldn't mean that my r4 would begin to gather dust

I'll get rid of mine at some point. Not yet , but will do. As for why , it'll will be when something better takes my interest. Acekard be looking interesting with built in memory and micro sd , so I'll see where thats heading. Bound to be more of that type of card along at some point.

You don't emulate games. Emulation refers to systems. There are NES, SNES, Genesis, TG16, and atari emulation programs for the DS, so you can use your DS to play games originally designed for those systems. There is no need to emulate a DS when youre using a DS. What the R4 does is allow you to play backups of original games and other homebrew designed for the DS.

The open source firmware is what has me sold. I was kind of playing around in the source last night, but I can't really do much with it until my unit arrives.

I'd only ditch it for the CycloDS if I got one, not for the Acekard.

Explain why.

Just don't like the Acekard, and I already have a product by Cyclo which is fantastic so I would go with that. The Acekard looks promising but the CycloDS already has all the features perfected that the Acekard doesn't have implemented yet.
With the open source, the Acekard will definitely have EVERYTHING that the Cyclo can do, and more to add.

I voted "No, not yet".

My R4 still works. I see no reason to buy any other flashcard. I'm good.

Now, if it stops working for me......
