I read somewhere that the Zelda franchise is turning 25 next year (in february i think), and I was wondering if they maybe would release a 3DS of that.
They're doing it with Mario and the Wii.
If it comes out, I hope it comes out at launch. (it should be because Zelda turns 25 in february)

There were 4 games before OoT.
Legend of Zelda (NES), Zelda II: The Adventure of Link (NES), Zelda: A Link To the Past (SNES) and Zelda: Link's Awakening (GB[C]).
But I really hope it will be announced and will actually exist...

You really show your age with your response. I still remember the Legend of Zelda commercials that aired in the 80's, where some guy was creeping through the shadows yelling "Zeldaaa!!!!!!" Back then you had to draw maps on graph paper, hold down the select button while pressing the power button (so you didn't lose your saved game on the NES). Gold cartridge, blah blah, I'm old and your first system was a N64.

You're forgetting the CD-i titles

There will definitely be some limited edition Zelda 3DS. Probably bundled with some Zelda game and a Zelda stylus and with a Zelda carry case, and cost three times as much as the regular 3DS

(That's how it goes.)

But unlike most special editions, this one should be available outside Japan as well.

(CDi Sucks and is gay and is not part of the main series)
Anyway, i think it will INDEED be bundled with a Zelda game, namely: Zelda Ocarina of Time. If it won't come out at launch I will just buy a 'normal' 3DS...

One thing that just occurred to me.... The sound on the 2600 sucked less back then the harsh sound we hear now is from infinitely better speakers we have now, back when the 2600 was new speakers produced a almost muffled sound, like CRTs made old graphics look slightly better.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I wonder if I could recommend that to some emulation devs that perhaps the sound could use some smoothing out to simulate those old TVs
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think a few of the early systems could benefit from that, at least up to the 8 bit generation, by the 16 bit generation I think TVs had gotten a lot better in almost every way
