I don´t think so. A lot of time without updating I don´t think they´ll restart now.
The best option is to buy a new flashcart that had good compatibilities like dstwo or Acekard 2i.

TTi check i only to verify your DSTT/DSTTi if it is an original or not!

But about kernel, they will never do anything at all!!!
