It doesn't matter the firmware version, what matters is the motherboard you have on it. If you just got it from retail, chances are you have a newer motherboard that can't be hacked.

Some of the v2s have a motherboard type that has not been hacked. You will have to read up on it.

Ignore dib's post it's nonsense. The only real way to be 100% sure is to stick a Pandora battery in it and see what happens. If you have the original packaging take a look at the serial sticker on it and if there's a letter earlier than G it should in theory be good...however who knows if the box you have is the box the PSP originally had.

    2. Has the PSP 2000 with the TA-88v3 Motherboard been hacked yet?
Same as the PSP 3000 no it hasnt been hacked. As with the 3000 the only thing you can do is run the Gripshift exploit to run some homebrew.

So yes, there are some Slims out there that can't be hacked. Thats why I just stick with the phats. Hackability is guaranteed lol [IMG]

Yes it is nonsense.....no PSP 2000 with any form of v2 mobo cannot be hacked. The only PSP 2000 which cannot be hacked is the latter day release containing the TA-088v3 motherboard.

In other words saying a v2 mobo cannot be hacked is only true in one situation...when talking about the PSP 3000 which is not the case here. Hence nonsense.

Check the serial number on the PSP on the side with the headphone hack. If the serial code starts with AB01 it should work and I've also heard below AB0216 will work(but I'm not sure). Then, remove the battery. If it's HU1 it should work and HU2 it shouldn't.
