well in that case, what would you recommend?
I'm looking for something cheap, but I can pay a bit more if it means quality.

Whats wrong with you guys, arent WD and Seagate two of the most solid brands in external drives; my desktop one is WD and has 3 years no problems so far; anyway, its always better to check other options, check seagate, i heard they offer a 5 year warranty in some of their models (freeagent[?])

Here's a compatibility list if you want to check it out: http://wiki.gbatemp.net/wiki/index.php?tit...patibility_List

Btw, I use a Verbatim Portable 250 gb hdd and it's working fine. I've been using it for 3+ months now and I've never had a problem with any backups freezing at random times. Also, as a side note, anything over 100 gb is just luxury. I have 70 games and I still have ~50 gb left of games to fill it with, I say just get a nice 50 gb if you're THAT much of a gamer and play many games at once. 20 gb really is enough.

    Hope I helped ^^

    EDIT: Yay 100th post XD
