patching the tmd will make it broken and not legit yes, but then simply delete the stub with fbi and you will not have to spoof the version
but you might get nagged to update your 3ds eventually because not all of your system will be up to date i guess


anyway, why do you want a 'legit' cia? your whole idea is about editing the contents anyway... so i don't see the reason

If I remember correctly then I think the purpose was to install the legit cia and then dump it with braindump and then run a modified romfs through HANS.

My thoughts were to make a CIA file that just runs a full length 3D movie from home screen for CFW or thru Hans for people not on CFW.

ok yeah, that would be nice i understand now
but still, i think all the videos have been stubbed out and not exist on the current fw, correct? if so, you will need some hax to delete the stub
i honestly forget.

The only legit video cia was bundled with 1.1 only, but there are many commercial ones and the free-with-NNID Majora's Mask one!

my jp n3ds has (had) a video, so not just 1.1
i forget if it was stubbed because when i created+formatted the emunand it would have been removed anyway

What about the cia of Nintendo Experience? It's a legit cia right? I install it in my o3ds and I can download from the e-shop, maybe you can work in that cia

My US N3DS 9.0.0.20U had the paper airplane 3D video stock, that's what gave me the idea.

I believe people have played around with the moflex player, but beyond that people haven't made much progress.

but is there even any way, safe DNS to safely use internet on a N3ds without getting an update nag,
i am using rxtools with 9.5 emunand still
