can anyone help me, i have gotten hold of about 5 JAP region free wiiware games and they all dont seem to work on my wii, they just hang at a black screen, i have updated, and i am on the latest fw

anyone know whats wrong?

P.S (Its a PAL Wii)

Hi guys,
Is anyone seriously running out of room on their Wii? I don't have that many VC games installed but still seem to have no room :-( I deleted as many of the saved games I don't use as possible and still very little free space....

On another note, does anyone have a step by step guide to using the WAD uninstaller? Is it possible to just remove one VC game? The reason I ask is that I seem to have Diddy Kongs Quest installed on my Wii twice. I think that it was named incorrectly when I downloaded it. Has anyone else had the problem of a VC game installed twice on their Wii?

It's patched with freethewads to *free*, on a PAL wii that's otherwise "clean" ( no double channels from NTSC semi-updates ), tho I did the Metroid 3 "turn off during update" stuff. The one who had it working on PAL, did you patch it to FREE or to PAL?

I patched FFCC to 'free' and it installs and runs fine on my PAL Wii 3.2e.

Wrong. If I install a wad, I can re-download the game as if I've already bought it. What I was wondering is if I install a wad from a different region, could I still re-download from the shop as if I've purchased it as with NTSC-U releases?


You're wrong, the shop channel can tell if you've bought a game or not. If you have bought it then it is tied to your Wii shop account. If you have not bought the game, you may be able to redownload it because the ticket is still remaining but the shop channel can still tell wether or not you've bought a game.

Where in that sentence did you see whether or not that I cared about the games being tied to my Wii Shop account? I was only inquiring as to being able to download the games from the Shop again is all if installed from another region. Please read more carefully next time and remember, don't drink and post. Ok sorry, but I know that I cannot redownload any games that I have installed WADs of, just like the other guy

Wads packed with kike's packer cannot be downloaded from the shop, the other ones can.

Also getting the ret = -2011 error when trying to install Lost Winds

Tried patching it to Free and to PAL, both times it didn't work....

Since nobody knows a solution to this problem, couldn't anyone just make an IPS patch or share his working patched version on Joh's, for all of us who can't get it to work?

If you look at the source of the patcher ( freethewads.c ), the common-key.bin isn't even mentioned in there...

Yup, almost 500 blocks free...
I'm almost certain it's a bug in freethewads.exe...Dr. Mario didn't work when I patched it myself, but when I downloaded a pre-patched version, it installed and played flawlessly...
Also tried FFCC now, it's giving me the -4011 error

Come on people, don't be so heartless, share your working versions on some torrent tracker and we'll find it

Edit: Okay, forget that, there's already a region-free version on a swedish tracker

1200 block so it shouldn't be a problem. Besides the wad itself installs fine, the error pops up when installing the TITLE part.
