It's a US region game.. might not work on a PAL Wii

Working fine here on PAL 3.2. Free the wads to regionfree it. The game is fun for the first two levels then you realise that it's just the same for the next umpteen levels.

I tried the same method, it appears to patch ok but I get a -2011 error in WAD Manager. It installs the ticket file and bombs on the next. I think I'm using the latest FreeTheWADS but I'm not sure (which version are you using or could you post a link to it in case I've grabbed an old version?). I'm pretty sure my WAD Manager is the latest.

In the meantime I'll look for a pre-patched version but I'd like to address this because I've had at least one other VC/Wiiware game do this (can't remember which).

I only played the first level and it was boring as hell!
Too bad, i thought this game would be good - but it isn't
There are tons of shooters for the PC-Engine or NES that are way better (and those don't need frickin 290 blocks like this $h*t!)

Tried the game today.
It was fun at first, but the small little things kinda ruin it a bit for me. Mostly just annoying rather than a real problem but it shows a rushed product. Id rather see it for five or six rather than seven bucks. Though even then its no excuse for the simple things.

Stuff I like:
Shooting stuff.
Lots of levels.

Lots of control options. (In including a paired mode for those lacking four wiimotes but two with
nunchucks or classic controller mix, plus optional motion controls in both wiimote and nunchuck)

Decent techno music.

Stuff I'm dissapointed with:
Only digital controls. (Analog stick and motion controls are only digital and only make it harder to move more effectiently. No smooth motions. )

Repeated graphics. (would have been ok if the game was cheaper I say but its a tad hard to tell the differnce between stages)

Flat boring graphics with no special effects. (Models are smooth but it kinda reminds me of an N64 game. The background is always the same and sometimes seems to bulge but that might my screen)

Turns in levels are too quick and sharp. (Not a bit of smoothing. Its not too bad but if you ever played AudioSurf it'll feel like a sting in comparison. Not to mention when the tracks get faster it gets harder to see what your running into. So collecting gets impossible on faster stages.

Overall I think the game is worth five bucks.
Defend your Castle had about the same amount of content.
Plus they didnt seem to bother much with the font either.
The game feels kinda like it was ripped straight from some indy dev's beta.
High Voltage has done some good stuff, I think they coulda polished it up a tad bit. It would have really made the game much more worth the price. Heck I'd even say an extra dollar would be fair.
Heres hoping their next try is alot better. I know they can do better than that.
Maybe they'll make a smoothed out sequel or something.

Those who havent played many shooters and enjoy games like these without care of the little annoyances, Id say it wouldnt be too bad a puchase. Though Id suggest it more at five rather than seven without more polish.

^ I'm inclined to agree with shadow1w2... It's OK but it's flawed.

The game is essentially a rip-off of Tempest (from 80s Arcades and Atari Jaguar among other things) but nowhere near as playable. It feels "flat" or "dry" it just doesn't have any spark or charisma - it feels like a Flash-based game that you'd play for 10mins then go off and do something more interesting.

The graphics are functional but fast and it's hard to say where the game fails... More variety in the enemies, different ships, big explosions, proper power-ups and more imaginative tracks would help AND I'm in two minds as to whether the "donut" that the tube you're flying down spills out (I dunno what it's called but it looks like a Stargate) of is their to make the game look more interesting or if it's just a way for the programmers to keep the speed up without incurring draw-distance and pop-up problems. So, it's not bad but it gets boring very quickly and I can name more features that SHOULD be in the game than actually ARE in the game, it feels unfinished.

Finally, I agree with the lack of analogue support. Like I said, it's effectively a rip-off of Tempest from the 1980s and even that had analogue controls! It's quite easy too, I sailed through the first 5 levels without so much as an issue and turned it off simply due to the lack of variety.
