Hacking WiiU List of system updates on disc

Can I check this somewhere else or is it possible to read the disc on a blue ray drive to check the firmware ???

@naerwerts on Twitter said its recommended to stay below 5.2 due to some security improvements implemented on 5.2.
Ild like to update to 5.1.2 and read Mario Kart USA (B) does include this firmware.

Is this the best option I have coming from 3.1.0 ?

Do not worry.
There are probably at least 6 private IOSU exploits (most likely more than that) and only 2 have been closed.
Currently, you are on what was the best and still probably is the best firmware for espresso(ppc/PowerPC) kernel hacks.
When something does leak(and that seems to be the pattern), It will most likely be for a current firmware and not something that was closed in 4.x.x or 5.2.x.

Thanks. I must admit loadiine and other homebrew runs a lot smoother than on 3.1.0.
I just hope when something leaks it will be compatible to 5.3.2.

Is there a way to stop a disc from updating your system? Just in case Nintendo releases a game that contains an update past 5.5.1. I don't want to lose homebrew and I buy most of my games in disc version.

I am on 4.0.2 (japanese) and having a hard time finding solid information about which japanese games have which updates..

I want to update to 4.1.0 (fiveighteen's guide says if you are on 4.0.2, you should update to 4.1.0)..
The update list in this thread says Wii Sports Club has a 4.1.0 update, but would that include the japanese version of that game too?.. You don't think nintendo would make a reprint of that game do you?..

I don't want to accidentally update to version 5.5.X and wii-u becomes completely unhackable.. I am trying to be careful..
If any one has any information about updates on japanese discs, that would be helpful..
Otherwise I suppose I might buy wii sports club and just pray that it really has 4.1.0 on the jap version and not a reprint that has 5.5.X.. The more popular games like hyrule warriors and mario kart 8 might also have 4.1.0, but those are more prone to have reprints with newer firmware, so I wanted to try to get some less popular crappy game like wii sports club..

Apparently IOSU has been confirmed to work on 5.5.1.

You need to get a game disc that has 5.3.2 or higher on it in order to be able to run homebrew. To use CFW, you need 5.5.0 or 5.5.1. If you have 5.3.2 or higher, you can use homebrew to install 5.5.1.

Which system version are you on now? If you're on 5.3.2 or higher, you can just use homebrew to update to 5.5.1.
