Hacking WIIU-J WiiVC or USB LOADER GX only causes black screen.

So i'm trying to play Punchout!! (USA) on my Wii U. I did the whole injection method and thought it would would work but the only thing that happens is it boots up vWii and just goes into black screen. My Wii remote disconnects and I had to unplug.

I gave up on WiiVC and decided to just hack vWii. I did the whole process and I had homebrew launcher. I opened usb loader gx and did the whole Force NTSC , Force PAL , System default and all that but it just does the same thing as the WiiVC Injections.

I have a Harddrive with external powersource and it works fine with Wii U games, even on non-J games.

Is this just because I'm trying to play a different region game on a Japanese console or is it something else?

Update: I tried Wiiflow and I got New Super Mario Bros to work and it was loaded off my sd card. Probably a usb thing. But PunchOut still won't play. Black screen and all.

I tried the Wii U titlekey of Punchout thinking it would fix my problem but it didn't at all.

japanese Wii (or vWii? I thought it was region free, maybe not) have more issues playing games from other regions.
maybe that game is not working, I don't know.

did you try to play that game from SD card with wiiflow?
be sure to use d2x v10 r52 (not r53, it doesn't work good with SD card)
or maybe the Wii Punch out ISO is just bad? did you verify the iso with a tool ? (wii backup manager, for example)


seeing you even tried the official VCWii game, and have the same result, I guess something is wrong with that game or your console.

Okay, I got it working. Apparently the Wiiflow I was using was wayyyy outdated but once I updated it I got punch out!!! to work. I think my USBHDD wasn't fast enough to load wii games.
