So, lots of people are using now the WiinnerTag, and I think that now is the best time to open a dedicated topic to centralize the request, information and feedbacks of the users.

Feel free to contribute with the topic!

    1. What is "WiinnerTag"?
    - WiinnerTag is a free feature, that is incorporated in some of the most used Backup Loaders for the Wii. The objective is to let possible for the Wii users to have a Gamertag, similar to the ones for X360 and PS3 users. While Wii don't have the equivalent to achievements, using homebrew apps it is possible to share your information and last played games in a tag.
Also, WiinnerTag let's you choose how many games do you want to show, what type of cover do you want to use, and what kind of information do you want to let visible in the tag, and the quality of the image generated. Try it!

    2. Where can I find more information for WiinnerTag?
    - You can ask me, or other users here;
    - You can visit the official website: http://www.wiinnertag.com

    3. What loaders are compatible with WiinnerTag?
    - As of now, the following loaders support WiinnerTag officially:
    • CFG Loader (from v58)
    • WiiFlow (from r141)
    • USB Loader GX (from v2.2 - r1100)
Also, there are some loaders that have modified versions to support it:
    • uLoader
    • NeoGamma
    "Wanted list":
    • (Any other?)
    4. What are the requirements to have a WiinnerTag?
    - A Wii capable of running homebrews;
    - Wi-Fi connection;
    - Registration at the official website (http://www.wiinnertag.com)

    5. What else?
    - You need to follow the steps needed accordingly to the loader you use.
    • CFG Loader:
      Warning: Spoilers inside!
For the oter loaders you can find instructions for each loader in the WiinnerTag website (it could be outdated, but just ask for help if there's any issue [IMG] )

    6. Anything else?
    - NO! As soon as you configure the loader, the tag should be updating automatically when you play.

    7. How the tag should look like?
    - You can see some examples here:
    Warning: Spoilers inside!

    8. What about some different images?
    - That's a great idea! I accept your help, just create the image with the size requested, in PNG of high quality and post here (remember, it should be about Wii or anything related! Exceptions may be considered [IMG] ). Also, the creator must define the number of games, the size of the covers (can be different between the ), the position of the text labels, and all the information. Let me know if you need any help [IMG]

    9. "That's nice, but you could add the feature "
    - Fine, just let me know and I'll evaluate the possibilities! [IMG]

    10. But I liked it sooooooooooo much that I want to support MORE!
    - Just PM me and let me know how do you want to help!

    !!! IMPORTANT !!!
    Please everybody read this: http://www.wiinnertag.com/node/159

It is looking good for an "official topic"? Contribute! [IMG]

I suggest you actually add the usage information for the various loaders to your post there. Also, you still have the old instructions for Cfg on your site, so here's the info:

    Installing Cfg:
    Setting up Cfg for Wiinnertag:
    • Get your key from your account page at the WiinnerTag site.
    • Add the line "gamercard_key = XXXX" to sd:/usb-loader/config.txt without the quotes and replacing XXXX with your key.

This looks pretty cool! Too bad GX doesn't support it officially. Oh well, I guess I can get CFG.

Thanks! I'm facing some issues with my version of USB GX (possibly because of my environment), and as soon as I solve it, I'll contact the GX team to try to add support for WiinnerTag [IMG]

I think a simple tag would be something like this:

Of course it would limit tags to only 5 games or so, but it would be cool if we could upload pics of our Mii's to them. [IMG]

    Again, just ideas.

I think that the idea of the simple/small tag is very good, I just need the graphics for it, if anybody could help, will be appreciated [IMG]

To add Miis will be very difficult, it needs to add support for Miis in the loaders, and I don't think that they will approve such a big change [IMG]

Almost. It is a gamertag generator, but it updates automatically, and only displays Wii games and covers. Also, it is widely configurable, and fast to use and update.

Well I wasn't talking automatically through loaders, but maybe an option to upload like a png of a picture we want? Not sure if this is possible either. [IMG]

Well... I really think that it is a good idea (if it only resumes to Miis), need to think about it in the future [IMG]

I agree. I wonder if it can be done the way some sites have those online Mii generators and it can be automatically added to a sig. [IMG]

GRRR! I hate giving ideas when I have no clue how to help with certain things. [IMG]

Anybody has experience to compile USB Loader GX? I don't know what I need to do, I compiled one version successfully but I must have changed something locally, and now every revision I compile, when I choose the game, it only returns a black screen.

I have tried all combinations of devkitPPC, libogc and etc to compile the code extracted directly from the SVN, and nothing works [IMG]

Eh, not sure about everywhere else, but in America, wiener is another word we use for penis. That's why the name is kinda not really suitable.

Isn't the word "wee" also a slang word for penis over there? In that case, there's virtually nothing you can do. And Weiner has a proper meaning as well, referring to a type of sausage, so even if you take that pronunciation, it doesn't have to be rude. Finally, the double n should make you pronounce it close to ween-ner , which actually sounds more like winner, as it's meant to, rather than Weiner.

Yeah, I saw the title and thought it was a joke...

"Wee" generally refers to "pee", while "weiner" refers to "penis".
    Penis pees, weiner wees.
