An interesting patent from Nintendo has surfaced, a touchpad peripheral for the standard Wiimote. Unlike the Wii U tablet controller it would not incorporate any type of screen, but would work in the same way a standard laptop touchpad does. The patent proposes this accessory can be used as an in-game drawing pad or to add a mouse pointer interface to a video game. It has also been suggested that this type of accessory could be implemented in the new Sonic game Sonic Dimensions for the Wii U. Ongoing discussion Credit goes to [member="Zekrom_cool"] for the news.
