Wiimote prototype drawings

    Alright, we know that the Wiimote that we now know and love is an homage to its design predecessor, the Nintendo Gateway. However, did you know that at one point, the designers have actually considered an analog stick on the Wiimote itself?

    Wooooooooow this is old man. I beleive this was from a Nintendo patent someone found a few months after the Wii Remote was unveiled at TGS 05'

    I wonder if the analog stick is possible in the future... could make for some interesting possibilities...

    I guess we should stick with what we have until the developers figure out how to effectively use the current scheme first though, huh?

    I'd like to find out some more history behind Nintendo's Gateway system, but Wikipedia doesn't have an article on it. Anyone know where else I could look?
