Hardware wiimc stops playing sound for avi files

used to be hassle free but now when playing avi files from my hdd i sometimes loose the audio and have to exit wiimc completely and play the file again.

not sure if its a problem with the wii, hdd or tv so just wondered if anyone else had this problem before?

im using a buffalo 2tb hdd but hadnt had any issues in the few years iv been using it with wii and wiimc

Are the avi files the same ones that worked before?

hmmm...im not sure but i do know the avi files work in other players. also they loose sound on the wii after at least 30mins, never before. sometimes my wii shuts down completley when its been on for a few hours, not sure if thats related tho

Well find one that you know worked before. It may be the encoding or something.

You also might try out MPlayerCE with cIOS202. It works much more smoothly with my HDD's.

Happens to me as well when I play long HD movies...
