Am I the only one with aspect issues? Before the Update, nothing from the Menu and the Videos was cut off, with the standart settings. Now I only see one half of the Video-Icon, and just a tiny bit of the subtitles, which sucks a bit

. Also, not a big problem as before, I dunno if it's even a bug, but the Files on my NTFS-Partition all display without capital letters (03. tabula rasa instead of 03. Tabula Rasa), though on Windows they are fine.

Other than that, amazing release, much more stable and faster for me, everything else works, even the Channel, great work

. Now I'm off to donate again

Tantric: a few of issues you may/may not know about:

1. Musepack files distort *badly*.
2. m4a files distort audibly.
3. Replaygain seems not to be supported.
4. Gapless playback does not work.
5. An album added to playlist is not added in track order.

Do you have plans to support 3 and 4 in particular?

Cheers

1-3 are mplayer issues. We're not touching these. 4 - too bad, not touching that either. 5 - the files are added in the order they are stored on the drive, the displayed files are sorted alphabetically for your convenience.

Fair do's Tantric. How hard would porting mpg123 or MADplay be to the wii? Both of these excellent programs support Replaygain and gapless playback.

So I've been using the new version for a few days now and have noticed one issue native to this version. First, details of my setup:
  • WiiMC v1.10 + Official Channel from Channel Installer v1.5
  • White Wii Running 4.3U (v513) Firmware
  • Vanilla IOS58 (v6176)
  • HBC v1.08
  • 1TB WD MyBook Essentials (500GB FAT32 + 500GB WBFS Primary Partitions)
When WiiMC is started from the HBC or the Official Channel, the default Video Screen is not at the saved static directory of the USB drive initially. It starts off on a root listing of the SD card and USB drive instead. Flipping from the initial Video Screen to any other screen like audio or pictures results in the proper static directory being displayed. Returning back to the Video Screen after flipping to any other screen results in the correct static directory being displayed. The USB hardrive light is lit as WiiMC starts indicating that it is successfully recognized. This issue has only been noticed with WiiMC v1.10.

Hope this helps to diagnose the problem. If more information is needed please advise. Looking forward to ongoing updates. Thanks for all your work Tantric and Team.

Can anyone help with my problem?

I have the media player working just fine, it's great, but when I watch a video I have black borders at the side of the screen. It's because I'm watching a 4:3 video on a 16:9 screen. Usually in this situation I stretch the picture so it fits the whole screen in the settings of whatever I'm using to watch the video (usually my PS3), it's just my personal preference. Trouble is, when I try to change the setting in WiiMC to 16:9 it just says something about an error saving to something.xml and it doesn't work.

Any ideas? I have WiiMC stored on my SD card, if you need to know this info.

I'm getting visible artifacts during divx playback on this 1.10 release. This is affecting all my divx/xvid files. It only seems to be in the upper left quarter of the screen - looks like motion artifacts. Switched back to 1.09 and they're gone. Don't know if this helps you or not.

@Tantric - Shipping to Canada is too expensive... plus customs would probably steal it anyway! I will say that if I could send you one of the new Black Wii's, I would though.

Many other have experienced the same issue. There is a thread over at the WiiMC forums and I have made a report on the bug tracker too.

Pardon my little off-topic but what is the purpose of releasing Mplayer CE along with WiiMC? Does that means MPlayer CE is still supported due to popular demand?

Just wanted to say thanks again. Working perfectly on a clean wiimc installation, with the new channel. At the first boot, it had some issues with my SD card, and the setting-saving. But after a restart, everything went fine. Probably has to do something with my SD card, and the creation of the settings file or something like that.
Watching movies, in divx/xvid format for hours now. No visible hickups spotted, and VERY stable!

I can not say it enough; thanks a lot.

Has anyone found a fix for the error IOS58 problem when installing the forwarder.

I am on 4.3E. I have tried re-loading 58 (un-patched) through dop-mii v13 and still the same error.

I have removed the wiiMC and forwarded directories from Apps and down loaded and installed new copies.

Do I need to patch IOS58 or something?

Other than that WiiMC works fine.

Edit: fixed. Hombrew channel was using 61. Re-installed HBC and it is now on 58 and everthing is working.

My wii isnt connected to the internet and all emus (snes, gba, nes) and WiiMC keeps returning me a code dump...

This is an HBC bug. You have to wait for an update, or simply remove the no_ios_reload line from the meta.xml files.
