Can somebody be kind enough to compile WiiMC 1.0.6 without the auto-update?
1.0.7 won't play certain files and 1.0.8 won't detect my HDD.
I tried myself but got very frustrated.

Yep. Doesnt see my hard drive. every other version does though. I just wanted to be able to stick at 1.0.8 and not get the update notifications.

But it still tells you there is an update? So?! Read wiimc.org
QUOTEI’m not guaranteeing this works for everyone. If you have problems, discuss them on the forum or go back to an older version. This will be the last update for awhile.
There you have it, coders have life's to live, work to attend to, people to see, going out etc. Not everyone is on a computer all day.

Im not having a go at Tantric. As he has said it will be the last update for a while. So thats why Ive asked the question about blocking the update notification.

Block internet access to your Wii on your router. If you use the Wii online then just block the WiiMC update site.

What is the update site address?

It will most likely use http://www.wiimc.org/downloads/ (Update.)

Well, you can actually just press "Cancel" every time it tries to update.
And IIRC it has an option to disable auto-updating somewhere in the settings.

I've never installed the so call IOS58, so I updated to WiiMC 1.0.9, and still using the channel from the 1.2 installer, and it's all working good...!!
