    Hi,
I bought a Wiikey2 for my v4.2E and installed it as per instructions on various web pages.

Wii still boots and plays originals but wont play any backups. PAL games return an error message: 'The system files are corrupted' and NTSC discs return 'Cannot read disc' error messages.

    Photo of my install:

(chip did have card protector on, just removed it for photo)

    I have homebrew channel installed.
    Any pointers appreciated.

    Thanks

    Hmmm.. still no joy.

Downloaded, MD5 hash ckecked and burnt the .iso with IMGBurn.
Booted the Wii with the disc inserted and updated the firmware.
Rebooted and checked the settings, all ON.

Tried both PAL and NTSC discs and received same errors as above.

    Any more tips greatly appreciated.
    Thank you

Try disabling autoboot. The reason NTSC discs won't work is because region free was broken in 4.2

Really? Does that mean I won't be able to play any NTSC disc with my WiiKey2?

    Thanks

I put Gecko OS v1.9.3.1 in the 'apps' folder of my HB SD card but after running it via the HBC I found no option to "disable autoboot".

OK managed to get a couple of games to work (Rubiks Cube World and Super Mario Galaxy 2) but some simply don't get past the introduction.

I think I found the 'Disable Autoboot' option on Gecko 1.9.3.1, it is (is it?) called 'Gecko Pause Start.'

One game (Harvest Moon - ToT) wouldn't recognise the nunchuck and another (Silent Hill - S.M.) returned an error after the video intro saying "The Disc could not be read".

    Any help appreciated.

Ok Ill pull it out one day this week and see how it goes. Wish I'd not spent £30 on it [IMG]

So for those games which do not work properly, what do you suggest? I currently have HBC installed with Gecko OS 1.9.3.1 (used succesfully to run some games but not all), NeoGamma (again, runs some games but not all) andcIOSXr19 installer (the install of which I don't think worked).

    Many thanks

If you have mainly disc's Neogamma has some of the best support i like running my gamecube through UsbloaderGx i dont know what it has but its able to load disc's for me that others cant.
As a rule i use UsbloaderGx for my WBFS HDD.
CFG loader is also very good.
And Sneek + Di for games like sam +max, MPT ,COD3 and Farcry.
I think cios 249 rev 17 is best for Neogamma
You will need to delete the stub ios's of 249 222 223 for them to install
Dop-Mii works very well for uninstalling stubs and updateing ios's
If you can install Bootmii as Boot2 then do it 1st and make a backup of your nand before you play around to much. Look up 1 of TJ cool's posts he has a link to the 4.2 mod guide which will help you greatly
