I tried to update my wiikey first to 1.9G, it failed. When testing: goes to 100 percent then sais error
Then, reboot, and it doesnt just test but actualy flashes, goes to hundred percent than the same error. Tried smg, doesn't work.

I'm hundred percent sure all my connections are rocksolid.

    what can I do

its not a clone, genuine one.

the error in the update? "Flasing failed. Please check connections and try again". I just rechecked all connections with a multimeter, theyre all good.

you have a clone, the fuses are not set to the correct values so it wont let you update.

its possible to reprogram your wiikey with the correct fuse values, but it will require you to solder the chiip programmer.

Really? I tried that chiip programmer is not working, it said that ATMEGA8L can be locked after flashing, or chiip programmer may be incompatible with some parallel port?

is it possible that a wire has come loose. It seems unlikely since every game that used to play still plays like a charm

Apparently if a wire is loose the wiikey won't work at all. So you probably have a clone ;p how do you know it's genuine

I know it's genuine because of the hologram. Isn't there a wire that only handles firmware updates

how can i get the 1.9g firmware iso file to burn the full size. when i burn it only comes up as abt 41mb & doesnt get read by the wii.
I have tried imgburn & cdclone to burn the iso bu7t not good.
I have read that its not burning the pad files. how can i get it to do that so that it burns the whole image?

be aware that some clones also have holograms :/

and last poster, like i said in the other thead, padding was needed @ original gamecubes, not wiis

Mine came up as 41mb and didn't burn any padding, I used Imgburn.

Make sure you are burning to a DVD not a CD, also make sure to verify the burn.

no, it'll still update your wiikey if you're using 2.2u, i did myself.

chances are your guys connections are actually BAD. open your wiis up and inspect your solders, unless of course you didn't do them, then i'd suggest taking it to the person who did it [IMG]

updating through smg before or after the wiikey doesn't matter, it won't hurt your wii ( as long as you allready have the latest firmware installed).

I actualy just fixed my problem. I just put in a new wiikey, and it worked first try. Same disc n everything, so no bad burn or something like that.

Well, I'm off to continue playing SMG ( whitch is a GREAT game with GREAT graphics, my god! ).
