I have a hard modded wii, how safe is it to upgrade my firmware?

Will it brick my wii or disable my wiikey? The reason i ask is i want to play Guitar Hero 5 and have even splashed out for the guitar bundle but am reluctant to run the dvd in as it comes up with wii system update.

there is no risk for your chip if you update, but the chip should have the possibility to block updates. you could find the missing files with geckoos1.9.3, download them with nus downloader and install them with wadmanager 1.5
