Installed a Wiikey into a mates Wii, 2 pads were lifted off the board so had to solder 2 contacts directly to IC Chip.

Everything else seems OK and no wires are lose. All other contacts soldered OK, chipset is GC2-DMS (Very old Wii).

The Wii powers up OK but makes a noise like its trying to eject a disc for 3-5 seconds, then stops. Discs can be inserted but take a little bit more force than normal. Original games seem to work fine but backups don't. The disc spins up but then just stops.

    Any ideas?

check for solder bridges and double check that the they are soldered on the wright place.
also make sure you have'nt broke any traces where the pads came off
