Through the years, I've successfully installed WiiFlow on a handful of Wii's. My last previous attempt, last year, wasn't successful but I got USB Loader GX working which was fine. Yesterday, I spent hours unsuccessfully trying to get a Wii loader to work and wasn't successful. I first followed instructions at the wiiflow wiki site (sites dot google dot com/site/wiiflowiki4/installing-wiiflow ... I can't post a URL yet). When that didn't work, I tried installing USB Loader GX but that didn't work either (it couldn't see the USB hard drive). Then I tried ModMii and went back and re-did the steps on the URL above and anything else I could lookup to try. Here's my current status: I can get WiiFlow to run from the channel launcher. WiiFlow sees the 4 games I placed on my MBT FAT32 formatted usb hard drive and I can get it to install the cover art. But every time I try launching a game, I get a blank screen for what seems like a minute or two and then I get kicked back out to the Wii Channel menu. I read somewhere to configure each game to use IOS 248 but that doesn't help.

Based on what I described, is there any advice on what I should try next or what I might be missing? Or where I should focus on debugging? If there is a different installation guide out there that I might try following, would love to get that URL try. Thank you!

When you say you tried ModMii what exactly did you try? Sounds like your missing cios249

Thank you for the reply! Regarding ModMii, I chose the USB Loader Setup option. From what I can remember, it ended up installing a bunch of things on Wii ... yes sadly "a bunch of things" is as much detail as I can remember (I think it was a bunch of wads) but I can go through the steps again tonight and give more details if helpful.

About your comment on missing cios249, is that the same thing as installing d2x-v10-beta52 into slot 249 using d2x-cios-installer that the WiiFlow wiki had me do? If that's the same thing, looking at other guides now the only difference I see is selecting 65535 as the cIOS version that I didn't do ... I left the default value as the WiiFlow wiki didn't mention changing that. When I get home tonight, I can try again using this cIOS version and see if it magically works.

Hello,

Your cios 250 is on the wrong version of the cios d2x.

Reinstall your cios 250 on the base 57 with this version of "" cios d2x v10 beta 52 "".

Try to correctly place the Wiiflow folder on your SD card.

You launch Wiiflow from the HBC or from the menu wii (Forwader) ??

I reinstalled "d2x v10 beta 52" in cIOS 250, base 57, version 65535. Hoping it might make a difference, I installed WiiFlow Lite also. I've run WiiFlow from the forwarder channel and from HBC. Both software start and see the 3 games I have on the USB hard drive. But I sadly still can't run a game ... it either eventually kicks out to the Wii channel menu or I've observed WiiFlow Lite restart. An updated SysCheck is below.

I've tried with and without the SD card installed. WiiFlow and WiiFlow lite are correctly placed (as far as I'm aware) in within the apps folder of the SD card.

Open to any other suggestions to try. I feel like it's really close and I'm missing something obvious (or not so obvious).

Several things can make it not work, misplaced files on SD, Bad dump ......

If you can test another USB support ??

Or test another Loader (usb loader gx, configurable loader v70).

These are just suppositions, after you see.

To give this some closure in case anyone else ends up finding this thread, it's working now and the issue as expected was user error. For whatever reason, I could get WiiFlow running off of a 64GB USB pen drive but none of my hard drives (including one I use on another modified Wii). Turns out I had set WiiFlow to use ios 248 instead of 249. Once I made that change, it worked fine with a hard drive and all is well. Thank you to everyone who helped on this thread.
