save al your games, then format your USB with a backup manager like Wii backup manager for windows

then use the backup manager to transfer the games previously saved to the USB

yes you can run gams and apps from the same fat32 partition
you can even store videos + music for media apps there
    or roms for emulators
or whatever other files you need

copying every game twice does of course work but takes ages
consider wbfs2fat for on the fly conversion instead

with fat32 you can load the drive in your computer, store computer stuff on it and wii stuff at the same time just drag and drop much easier that crappy wbfs [IMG]

In my opinion, one only FAT32 partition is the best choice... you can use the HD both for Wii and PC... and it is extremely stable with all of the loaders...

I meant try other usb drives on this usb port and the drive in question in another pc.
Then you know where the problem lies.

The problem lies in the USB.
Should i just give the usb a break for a few days?

    usb what?
    drive? port? controller?
if its not the drive maybe try the other usb ports on your pc
even if the controller is fried some boards got 2 or 3 of them each for different ports

I really doubt time will help but on the other hand its not that you loose something in trying it
