hello fellow tempers,

There is any reason to have today on all updated homebrew, cIOS 202, 222-225 and 236? does any current homebrew needs them?

mine are:

Code:
IOS202[60] (rev 65535, Info: hermes-v5.1): Bug Trucha, Acceso NAND, USB 2.0
IOS222[38] (rev 4, Info: hermes-v4.0): Bug Trucha, ES Identify, Acceso NAND, USB 2.0
IOS223[38+37] (rev 4, Info: hermes-v4): Bug Trucha, ES Identify, Acceso NAND, USB 2.0
IOS224[57] (rev 65535, Info: hermes-v5.1): Bug Trucha, Acceso NAND, USB 2.0
IOS225[37] (rev 65535, Info: hermes-v5.1): Bug Trucha, Acceso NAND
IOS236[36] (rev 65535, Info: rev 3351): Bug Trucha, ES Identify, Acceso NAND

Good idea leave or better to remove them to no create unnecessarily conflicts with Dx2 cIOS?
read this, it will tell you a lot of things ==>
https://wiki.gbatemp.net/wiki/Wii_cIOS_base_Compatibility_List

i know that some games work with the CIOS of Hermès, but do not ask me which ones, I do not remember too much.
it was often used the CIOS 224 and 223 to work with some games (that a long time ago  )

@impeeza ==> :grog::yaywii:

here is my CIOS configuration:

IOS202[38] (rev 65535, Info: hermes-v5.1): Trucha Bug, ES Identify, NAND Access, USB 2.0
IOS222[38] (rev 65535, Info: hermes-v5.1) : Trucha Bug, ES Identify, Access NAND, USB 2.0
IOS223[37] (rev 65535, Info: hermes-v5.1): Trucha Bug, Access NAND, USB 2.0
IOS224[57] (rev 65535, Info: hermes-v5 .1): Trucha Bug, Access NAND, USB 2.0
IOS236[36] (rev 65535, Info: rev 3351): Trucha Bug, ES Identify, Access NAND
IOS245[37] (rev 21008, Info: d2x-v8final): Trucha Bug, Access NAND, USB 2.0
IOS246[38] (rev 21008, Info: d2x-v8final): Trucha Bug, ES Identify, Access NAND
IOS247[53] (rev 21008, Info: d2x-v8final): Trucha Bug, NAND Access, USB 2.0
IOS248[55] (rev 21008, Info: d2x-v8final): Trucha Bug, NAND Access, USB 2.0
IOS249[56] (rev 21008, Info: d2x-v8final) : Trucha Bug, NAND Access, USB 2.0
IOS250[57] (rev 21008, Info: d2x-v8final): Trucha Bug, NAND Access, USB 2.0
IOS251[58] (rev 21008, Info: d2x-v8final): Trucha Bug, NAND Access, USB 2.0
IOS254 (rev 65281): BootMii

i know the report is old ===> but all my games work fine with my HDD (fat32) .

once, I wanted to play a game Just dance ==> so I had put the CIOS 250 with base 57 ==> black screen  , so I said to myself at the time, I will try the CIOS 224 WITH BASE 57 and there, the game had worked.:yaywii:
then I do not intend to change versions of CIOS, because I hardly use it anymore (switch to the Wii U :yayu::wub: ), I use it for essays :hrth::download:
thank you for reading me, good evening my friend :grog::lol:, Sincerely.

Modmii's/wii.hacks.guide's recommended cios's (248-251) should be all u need. If for some reason u want hermes cios as well (202, 222-224) then you can enable this is modmii's options. Or download them manually from Modmii's download page 4 (same goes for many other different cios versions that u shouldn't need but are still available)

I wonder if this is known issue of the latest Wiiflow version: global setting to force cIOS does not have an effect. I am using WiiU in dual disk setup (WiiU and vWii) and I have set cIOS to slot 251 and force load cIOS to ON in global settings but vWii games would still not load UNLESS I set cIOS from Auto to Slot 251 in every game settings.

global settings force cios and cios chosen has nothing to do with the cios used for wii games. the 'AUTO' option was broke but should be fixed in v 5.5.4-1.

So how to set vWii game cios to slot 251 for every game? Because with default Auto option whenever I try to load a game I am always being kicked back to Wiiflow menu. cIOS set to 251 seems to be the only workings option in vWii double disk setup. At least it works in USBLoaderGX (but it has a global option to change wii game cios).

Hello,

did you change the CIOS (either 249, 250) in the game settings and test your game?

Yes, I have tried both slots 249 and 250 in game settings and Wiiflow kicks me back to menu, same as with Auto option.
I am WiiU user and I have double disk setup: WiiU game drive plugged in to the top back USB port and vWii Fat32 drive plugged in to the bottom back USB. It seems like the only IOS that works with dual drive setup on WiiU is IOS 58 and cIOS in slot 251 base 58. This is also recommended setting for USBLoaderGX with dual drive setup on WiiU. For the time being I could not get any other member of this forum to confirm that other settings are working. I have tried different drives and swapped drive's cases in hope that the problem has something to do with drive ID, but it didn't have any effect.

have you tried plugging your external hard drive (fat32) vwii into the back of the wii U and the other external hard drive wii U plugged into the front?
look at the back of the wii U on the hard drive connection with the main USB cable:
HDD_001.png

if your external hard drive vwii is plugged into the secondary port ==> it will not work.

little information:

i only have an external hard drive (formatted wii U) with wiiU games and wii game injection, and it is connected to the front of the wii U ===> it works perfectly.

It sure works, furthermore in my case it is the only way HBC and vWii apps could be loaded from vWii USB drive in dual drive setup.

I have no problems when only one drive is connected to WiiU. In single drive setup I could use any iOS/cIOS. I am looking for universal working solutions for dual drive setup.

Yes, I’ve tried it and every other possible combination. My goal is to be able to run HBC and any other vWii app from a USB drive, as could be done with a normal Wii, and in a dual-drive setup. So far, the only working setup I’ve found is having the Wii U drive in the top back port and the vWii drive in the bottom back port. I’ve also changed the apps and game IOS to use cIOS base 58 in slot 251.

The problem is with Wiiflow, because the game’s IOS can’t be globally forced to slot 251 for every game, as is possible with USBLoaderGX. In Wiiflow, I would need to change the IOS for each game individually in its settings.

@pankos can you post your syscheck? by the way what version of wfl are you using? v5.5.4-1?

i need to see what other cios you have installed.

or you could uninstall all other d2x cios except for 251. that way "auto" will always choose 251 for you.

Ok, I will consider this.
pretty amazing that cios 249 and 250 don't work when launching games. a logical guess - maybe since you have the wfl startup set to use cios 251, reloading to a different cios is failing but when set to 251 for a game there is no reloading to a different cios. but yet again i haven't heard of anyone else with your same symptoms.

It seems that very few, if any, on the forum are running vWii homebrew apps from a USB drive while also using a dual-disk setup. I've asked a few forum members in other threads to try loading vWii apps from a USB drive in their own dual-disk setups, as I do, but so far, nobody has been able to do it. I'm still waiting for someone to prove that a working dual-drive setup on the Wii U can load apps from a USB drive, other than the setup I use.
I've been advised to switch to an SD card as the source for vWii homebrew apps in order to avoid using slot 251 with cIOS 2dx base 58 altogether, and instead use cIOS in slot 249 for better USB drive loading speed and game compatibility. However, I prefer to use my regular Wii USB drive for vWii, as it offers the convenience of using the same app configuration between both the Wii and vWii. Specifically, my large Wiiflow plugin pack was originally set up to load completely from the USB drive on the Wii, and the same Wiiflow pack works fine on vWii with IOS set to slot 251 and cIOS 2dx base 58 (the only working configuration so far).

Hello, I hope I am not interrupting. I still need help with this. Can anyone confirm if they have the same problem while using this emulator plugin? Is there no way to save graphical settings in it?

Also, I noticed that when the game files are zipped, the plugin can't open them automatically. I have to select them again from the emulator's menu. But I have a feeling that's probably not easily fixable...

Sorry if this is the wrong place to put this – I made a forwarder WAD for WiiFlow since I didn't really like any of the ones out there and I figured I should post it on the internet so other people can potentially use it. You can find it on my GitHub page, which is just "wyndchyme". Let me know if there are any issues.
