Hello!

Some time last year I booted up my Wii and the Wii games off WiiFlow suddenly didn't work anymore. It would just restart. Gamecube games still work, of course.
It's been so long since I hacked my Wii and unfortunately I didn't think to note down how I got it to work when it did work, so now I'm trying to backtrack where I went wrong... In a panic I installed some random wads on 249, then I thought to slow down and do some research. First I ran a SysCheck:
IOS249[56] (rev 21010, Info: d2x-v10beta53-alt): Trucha Bug, NAND Access, USB 2.0
IOS250[56] (rev 65535, Info: d2x-v10beta52): Trucha Bug, NAND Access, USB 2.0
IOS251[58] (rev 65535, Info: d2x-v10beta52): Trucha Bug, NAND Access, USB 2.0

Took a while to figure out, but it seems I mistakenly reinstalled the wrong wad on IOS249. I read quite a bit and assumed I had to use cIOS Installer to install cIOS249[56]-d2x-v10beta52 onto it. Wii's internet won't work for some reason (problem for another day), so I used NUS Downloader on the computer to download IOS56-64-v5661.wad and move it to root for cIOS Installer to use. I followed this cIOS Installation guide. (Also found this Wii cIOS base Compatibility List which proved it hardly matters if you have 56 on 249 and 57 on 250, or vice versa.)

But even with cIOS249[56]-d2x-v10beta52 on 249, 57 on 250, and 251 uninstalled, it didn't work. Here's the SysCheck:
SysCheck HDE v2.4.0 HacksDen Edition by JoostinOnline, Double_A, R2-D2199, and Nano

Then I found a couple suggestions from two threads:
To try deleting wiiflow.ini in the apps wiiflow folder since it might be corrupted.
To force Wiiflow to use cIOS slot 250. I tried forcing 249, too.
But these solutions didn't work either for me... I could install v8final instead of v10beta52, but the above compatibility guide says they're the same and I even saw a more recent thread that discouraged v8final.

Does someone have any other suggestions I could try? It's a bit hard to search through everything, information is either outdated or incorrect.
I was hoping to get this working by tomorrow so I can let my baby cousin relive his days playing Kirby's Epic Yarn when I visit him!

Thank you in advance!

Thanks for the response!
So I finally updated WiiFlow to WiiFlow Lite, had found the WiiFlow wiki which linked to the latest version v.5.4.9 on GitHub. It's just that tad bit nicer! Unfortunately, the Wii games still don't work...
I could try a different loader, like USBLoaderGX maybe... But I was really hoping to get WiiFlow back working, I like its interface!

Maybe for now I'll just try to get USB Loader working so we can play Kirby tomorrow.

EDIT
Ah, installed USB Loader but it said my USB (HDD) is not initialized...I will have to call it a day with all this troubleshooting.

If this has not already been considered, it is also a possibility that your USB storage is simply plugged into the incorrect USB port.

If your Wii is placed horizontally on its feet, the bottom most USB port on the back is the correct one to use.

Force your base 57 cIOS, doesn't matter if it is placed in slot 249 or 250. Also, Reload Cache in WiiFlow's home menu.

Oh my goooooosh
I just knew it was going to be the simplest solution right under my nose! I thought I had the USB in the right port since everything else worked! It's been so long since I learned the USB rule, for some reason I assumed wrong port=nothing works. Well, that's why they say what assumptions make people...

If anything, at least this whole fiasco re-familiarized me with the Wii hacking scene. I got to write better notes, organize the apps, update a bit, clean up my wads and other files, learn a bit more than I ever have before, and get more comfortable doing more complex mods. :D

Thank you and everyone else who've helped me out with this! This is a forum I can always depend on ✧・゚:*
