Misc wiidrives website is gone! What Happened?

The wiidrives website just shutdown because it said the domain has expired?

What happened? Is it ever gonna come back? Is there an alternative for now? I used that website to identify the type of drive chip my wii has by inputing it's serial number.

It's also reported in syscheck logs iirc, and it helps determine if the drive is capable of playing backup disks /DVDs, but yeah I agree most ppl wouldn't really care. I have such a wii, and I only use the DVD laser expressly for the purpose of backing up games to try and prolong its lifespan as much as possible (so pretty much I never use it, lol, for all I know it's already busted)

wiidrives was updated by the owner a couple times in the past couple year and it says the domain had been renew

    Why not just use the original controller you ripped apart? Cool project but seems like a waste. I made my own controller/ fight stick for switch using an Arduino, and even uploaded my code here on a forum.

    I made myself a soundboard handheld w amplified speaker and 3d printed a case with 10 buttons. Loaded it with bird sounds. I sit on my porch alot and use it to talk to the birds, and they respond back to it. I think its cool but wifey thinks I'm crazy.
