The Wii64 Team have been quietly busy working on the latest edition of Wii64. Don't get too excited, as the new version isn't out just yet, but it looks like there's some cool stuff to look forward to. Conker's Bad Fur Day, anyone?

Looks nice that Conker's running but it's not worth it until it's at a playable framerate (3 FPS isn't exactly playable).

The emu works pretty good from what I tried a while ago, ran Banjo Kazooie pretty well. Definitely could see this being a really viable emulator.

And since that's on the intro, I'm pretty sure it would be even slower, if not crash, when you get to the save file selection screen.

Cant wait till we get online play.

I guess this version would fix the Majora Mask and othere games issue of missing certain overlay textures. Say for the eye of truth item. (Had to climb up that wall blind agh).

Texture replacements sounds awesome and I can't wait to play some high res Zelda on the Wii :3
Though the 3DS version might look a bit nicer... hmm...

From tehpola, part of the Wii64 team:

"Since a lot of you guys noticed the frame rate (as we imagined you would), I wanted to clear up a few details.
In those screens, we’re running under the pure interpreter. The dynarec doesn’t yet support running Conker’s. Dealing with crazy compatibility issues is mostly what drove the idea of doing a rewrite.
The performance there isn’t as bad as it seems either. Notice that the VI/s is ~4 times the FPS. On the real hardware this would have been running at 15 FPS. Therefore it’s only 1/5 - 1/4 full speed, even on pure interpreter."

Conker!! Can't wait for the next release, even though it doesn't seem to be playable at the moment.
