My friend had the same problem...

You may need to provide more details than this. What region is the console and is it modded? If so, with what chip and when did you have it modded? Did you do it yourself or did a professional do it?

Imagine this post on a vet forum

"My dog is sick! What do I do?!?!?!"

Is this a recent purchase? And, therefore, presumably a recently manufactured console?

Check if there is already a disc in, you never know, sometime, the most obvious solution is the right one.

    I've already checked: no disc.
I got it in January 2007.

EDIT: I told a half-truth: I have a Wiikey with only points 1 and 2 quick-soldered. Could this have anything to do with it?

After doing some more thinking, it may be possible to fix this by unsoldering my Wiikey. Could someone with experience let me know if this will work?

there is only one way to find out

you have got nothing to loose if it doesn't, just solder it back in.
