I have a Wii with Wiikey installed.
Actually I modded a friend's Wii and he has had it since.

So it has been working fine with 3.0U firmware since Metroid came out.
I then gave him a backup copy of House of the Dead 2/3.

He came back the next day and said it doesn't work.
So I took the Wii and tried both original and backup Wii games. Everyone goes to an error screen. "There has been an error. Press eject.. etc etc"

I tried original and backup Gamecube games.
    Both work.

I then updated to the latest firmware via wireless internet.
    Still doesn't work.

Anyone have any idea on what the cause could be?

I soldered the chip in directly, meaning no wires. So it should be pretty much soldered on there for good.
He said the only Wii game he remembers playing weeks ago before trying House of the Dead was Transformers.

    Any advice would be appreciated.

    Thanks!

try updating to 1.9s and use the config disc to configure it, turn on region free or whatever, then try. I suppose it is possible that the chip has become corrupted or something, or maybe one of the solder points is bad.

    Worth a shot though.

Well I tried updating and still have the same problem.

I wonder why Gamecube games do work. :/

I thought about the soldering points as well, but I soldered directly to the board, no wires.
No way I can take that off.

I have to do so with DVD-RW
The first days I tested DVD-RW I didn't had to do this; it ran at first time inserted. Now I have to do this 'trick'
    Any idea anyone ?
