Wii U Production Will Not End Anytime Soon, According to Nintendo

After Nikkea made their claim, Nintendo responded and reported that it was fake. It was reported false by a Nintendo spokesperson to IT Media, a Japanese website.

Nintendo's saving face, but it's BS. Zelda U will be one of its last hurrahs.

I certainly got way more than my money's worth out of the Wii U and it has some great great games. That said, it just doesn't have the quantity that we all wish it did.

eh, not just GBATemp. I unfortunately check out the Wii U GameFAQs board, and let me tell you. The trolls and haters will believe anything, no matter how illogical, just so long as it's negative towards Nintendo, but will go to great lengths to claim "excuses" or "conspiracies" about anything positive towards Nintendo. Seriously, someone there believed the hoax just so they could mock Nintendo, but when they were confirmed fake, he made the excuse that Nintendo paid them to say that.

The trolls have overrun that board (and others), and the mods literally do shit over there (pardon the language). They know who the trolls are, but say they can't do anything because "the trolls know the rules all too well". It doesn't help that they never IP-ban anyone, but encourage the making of alts. I think they let them roam free because they create conflict, and that's how the boards get more traffic.

For all the crap that happens here, it's nowhere near a toxic swamp as over there, and the mods/admins/etc here are very understanding of what is disruptive and will do what is necessary to keep the peace, including IP-bans. So thank you mods, admins, and others.

Yes, they have a long history of releasing new home consoles the same year they're revealed. Like the Wii U. Wait, no, my sources are telling me it released the year following its reveal. Then like the Wii! No, that was also the year after its reveal. Gamecube? Darn, that was also the year following its reveal. Surely the N64, then. Shoot, I'm running out of exclamations of disappointment! It was released two years after its unveiling. Well who cares about 20 years of history when you can talk out your ass?

Funny enough they didn't really deny. They just said it wasn't announced from their company and Wii U will be in production throughout the year and says nothing about after that, which doesn't conflict with Nikkei at all.

the wii was actually doing well though up to the point where the gimmick wore off and it started to fall than they dumped it. the wiiu is a disaster and they want it behind them as quickly as possible. the nx is their way out.
