Hi, hope anyone can help me with some questions !

I have v3.1E on a EU Wii with a Wii key chip running 1.9s firmware
Can i update my Wii to the latest software version with just hooking it up to the internet ?
Or should i do this on another way (waninkoko style) ?

So far everything works fine on my current setup like HBC , USBLoader 1.5 , Wad manager etc .
Most of the topics are for softmods only and i am not sure if this will work with the wiikey v1 also.

    Appreciate the help !

Modchips should have nothing to do with softmods. You can either do an official update or use Waninkoko's 4.0 updater then the 4.1 updater. (directly doing the 4.1 updater will give you an error if you aren't on 4.0/don't have IOS60 beforehand.)

Ok ! It seems to me that the Waninkoko upgrade (4.0 first - then 4.1) is the safest way, if I still want to use HBC , USBLoader etc.
Do i need to install several IOS files , to make these upgrades work ?

BTW thanks for the quick response.

Edit : sorry got it !

I updated from 3.2e to 4.1e using the official update method and i can still run HBC along with USB Loader and backup dvd's
