Hi, I am currently running firmware 3.2E with hbc installed and since the 4.0 update haven't been able to access the shop channel. I got a patch for the last version (3.4?) to gain access at the time, but can't seem to find one for the new update.

any help appreciated, and sorry if can't post about this/ posted in the wrong place

WiiSCU v0.2

QUOTE said:
WiiSCU v0.2
Copyright  2009 Wack0
Portions copyright  2008 tona
Portions copyright  2008 Team TWiiZeRS
PatchMii net_init() retry code copyright  2009 kerframil

WiiSCU uses PatchMii to update the following to their latest versions:

IOS16
IOS38
IOS51
IOS60
IOS61
News Channel
Weather Channel
Mii Channel
Photo Channel (v1.1)
Shop Channel

(I've abandoned the idea to update the WiiSpeak channel if detected, as the
Wii Shop Channel generates the ticket. If I coded a ticket-generator, people
would probably use my code for VC/WiiWare piracy. And I don't want that.)

This is my first release.

I don't know much C# and still don't, so I modified IOS51+shop.
(Well, I modified IOS61+shop, but that was based upon IOS51+shop)
So most of the work was done by tona and teamtwiizers.
But everyone has to start somewhere

There is a menu-driven interface starting from 0.2, using code from
AnyRegion Changer (tona, you're a life saver !).
+Trucha means 'with the trucha bug'. -Trucha means 'without the trucha
bug' .. but you could figure it out !!

If you try to install Photo Channel 1.0 over Photo Channel 1.1 or 1.1b,
ES_AddContentStart errors (return code -1017), and WiiSCU will exit.

Version history and changelog
`````````````````````````````
v0.2 ~ patchmii_network_init() now retries a few times if it fails.
~ Menu-driven interface integrated into code, installer.c re-written
completely because of this.
~ Photo Channel 1.0 is now supported. There's been no requests for it,
but I decided to put it in to make the updater "complete".
~ New icon by Antiaverage included.
..and that's about it !
v0.1 ~ First version, nothing else to say except it had a really irksome
interface. For IOS51+Shop it was fine, but for an updater that had
options for 10 titles it would get annoying ..
after running wii scu, if you have mii wii package installed re run main installer from package as after running wii scu it stops some of the games working, reinstalling mii wii main installer will make them work and you will still have latest channels =)
Google is your friend!
Simple google search results for "wii shop and ios61 installer" revealed.
http://wiibrew.org/wiki/
I did the ios61 and shop install option only.
I have 3.2u and this allowes me to use the shop channel.
I did not use the combined ios61 and ios60 combined installer because I dont want to go to system menu 4.0 as of yet.
Still waiting for the easiest painless way even though I have bootmii as boot 2 and my nand backed up.
BTW bootmii installer installs the new HBC on ios61 if its installed. I hear this is not a problem.
I hope it ok to link to this page. If not, Mods please delete post and dont ban me.
Hope this helps.
EDIT: I just used wiiscu found at wiibrew.org/wiki and it just updated all channels and it patched everything and all seems fine.
Make sure you select +trucha.
Info in above posts is right, use Wiiscu to install IOS60 and shop update and youre good
........................Then, install Bootmii>backup NAND on 3.2>update to 4.0 via Nintendo !
you got nothing to lose
