Our little white box, about the size of two game cases with a little blue light has been lacking in good third party games, and generally a volume of good games. This is especially true for my favorite genre, the JRPG (while WRPGs have it even worse at...0). Now, all of a sudden, Japan has been focused on releasing RPGs all over the place on the Wii! What do you think that the games (listed below) will be hitting the states? If they do hit the states, what impact do you think that they will make on the perception of the Wii both now and in the future?
    • Xenoblade
    • The Last Story
    • Tales of Graces
    • Zangeki no REGINLEIV (old, I know)
    • Sword of Legendia (ever released?)
    • Arc Rise Fantasia (I know it's already announced as coming, but still included)
    • Sengoku no Basura 3 (I'm not sure if it's an RPG)
    • Dragon Quest X
    Your thoughts?

Honestly not a big fan of RPGs, but I am looking forward to Xenoblade and The Last Story (assuming they get localized).

Yeah, new Tales game. It was released in Japan last year, November, I think. Honestly, all of us are kinda putting all of our hopes on E3, but seeing Bamco's recent track record, not to mention their profits lost last year, it doesn't look likely at all.

Xenoblade seems to be very interesting. Btw. there is a new gameplay video, that shows the battle system:

Can't tell you much about "The Last Story", but the artworks and all the developer infos are really promising.

Hopefully we'll see some NTSC or PAL releases of this games in this year.

Arc Rise Fantasia release is very near, seems to be a standard jprg with no big suprises, but it could be a nice alternative until the real big jrpgs are here [IMG].

The Wii has barely an ounce of RPGs, which sucks. And while we're getting a rather large influx of them lately, most of them will probably be stuck in Japan and won't be localized.

Nowadays, I just stick to handhelds for RPGs. Although the PS3 and 360 do get a pretty nice selection of RPGs.

    * Xenoblade - Definitely coming to the States, and somewhat looking forward to it.
    * The Last Story - What's this? Can anybody give me a gameplay vid or... Nvm, I'll just YT it.
    * Tales of Graces - Almost 100% sure it's not being localized, but a translation is being worked on.
    * Zangeki no REGINLEIV (old, I know) - Not gonna be localized, it looks pretty beast though.
    * Sword of Legendia (ever released?) - Never heard of it.
    * Arc Rise Fantasia (I know it's already announced as coming, but still included) - Coming, and can't wait [IMG]
    * Sengoku no Basura 3 (I'm not sure if it's an RPG) - Not an RPG.
    * Dragon Quest X - I'm sure they said this will be announced soon, but I may have read bad info, since I vaguely remember it.

Arc Rise Fantasia looks pretty good.
It's turn based...but hell, it still looks interesting. I'll definitely be trying it once it's released.

    Tales of Graces...ergh.
I've completely lost hope that it'll see the light of an official English translation.
I'll just have to wait the many years for a fanmade translation to pop up.
Curse instantly loving Sophie based on trailers I watched (She's been my desktop for a while).
The main thing that pisses me off is Bamco wont let anyone else official translate the fucking game either. (several want to) I don't know what they're thinking because letting the english fans rot, when they could at least get some money for selling the rights to make the game into english to another company would be a better idea.
But we all know the answer to that: It's Bamco.

It's been officially announced for a European release. Nothing for the US, but definitely for Europe... Probably.

If you are in desperate need of some RPG's, look back at the gamecube titles.
Some of the best ones are:
    - Baten Kaitos: Eternal Wings and the Lost Ocean
    - Baten Kaitos: Origins
    - Tales of Symphonia
    - Skies of Arcadia
    - Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door
    - Lost Kindoms

Haha wow. A few years ago, I never would have expected someone to recommend going to the gamecube to get your RPG fix.

Well you never asked me about the state of RPG's of the Gamecube. [IMG] That list proves that quality is greater than quantity.

Namco announced that Tales of Grace would come out here in 2011. But thatw as before it was announced they had a major losses in the fiscal year. Now, it is like that announcement wasn't made at all.

Beside, when it happened, the game was broken anyway. They said the version hitting here would be fixed, but now, for now, it's not coming anymore.

    Here is that article: http://www.rpgamer.com/news/Q1-2010/033110c.html

Wait, it seems this was an April fool. But it seems the new control scheme might not be.
